SME Regional Business Development Head

Overview

Market Development drives opportunities within Asia Pacific to grow and grow our franchise in a profitable and sustainable manner. Commercial Payment Solutions (CPS) is an integral part of Market Development and consists of B2B, SME, T&E. Our key activities include:

Identifying & developing new SME business, volume, revenue and share gain via

digital SME initiatives,

Providing deep sales expertise, and experience working with SME€™s and issuers while managing pricing and network economics, and expanding merchant acceptance

CPS is looking for a Regional Head of SME to work within the Asia Pacific Commercial Payments team.

The SME Business Development Head will drive business development and work closely with issuers to capture SME flows across Asia Pacific. A comprehensive understanding of Digital Payments, Fintechs, and related Commercial SME business is essential.

Additional experience in cash flow modeling and solutioning, small business banking experience and relationship management / client acquisition background is preferred. Experience working within Commercial verticals such as T&E (Corporate Cards) and B2B is preferred. These skills sets will enable the individual to accelerate business and portfolio acquisition and drive execution and realization of new businesses while capturing payment flows as we drive adoption of our global payment network on Commercial Payments.

The SME Business Development Head will work closely with local markets to provide direction and leadership to support business development initiatives across the business life cycle, starting from identification, to scaling and program launch. Experience regarding portfolio optimization and related strategies is essential. The role will also be responsible for driving internal and external education and communication regarding Mastercard and overall Commercial capabilities.

We are looking for a team player who has experience in developing and scaling business relationships and in selling to reinforce our overall capabilities.

Role

The SME Business Development Head will focus, specifically, on the following initiatives:

Manage process to identify, prioritize and onboard partners/issuers

Design optimization strategies that will accelerate SME digital payment penetration across an issuers base

Manage a team of sales professionals providing sales targets, strategy and execution plans and Go To Market process for partnerships & drive partnership scale and expansion

Organize management reporting via Salesforce and other ERP applications while overseeing and managing senior client relationships

Providing RFP management and production support

To accomplish the above, the individual is expected to:

Articulate MasterCard value prop to key decision makers and operating units at partners

Help partners articulate the value of MasterCard products and services, recommend a relevant partner product construct and activate partner sales & distribution channels

Provide direction with the creation of training, sales & implementation materials / activities to bolster the capabilities of internal and external partners and educating & partner with country teams to support local business development opportunities to drive new business

Measure communication results, obtain feedback and utilize these to improve materials and processes while assisting in the cross-sell identified B2B, G2G and/or B2G trade opportunities to other trading corridors within AP.

Build and sustain strong working relationships with internal teams (product, enterprise partnerships, operations & technology, legal and communications) for seamless delivery and onboarding.

Has experience in a business banking / corporate transaction bank or with supply chain / ERP / IT vendors

Has sold / managed / implemented lending, cash management or trade products

Has a working knowledge of payables and receivables challenges for companies

Ability to map complex business and financial process and propose improvements

Adept at operating within a fast-paced and dynamic matrix organization
