Director, Business Expansion
The role will support and contribute to the regions overall Acceptance & eCommerce priorities.
- Supporting relationships with key ASEAN acquirers and developing tangible value and assets elevating and
deepening the overall MasterCard engagement with acquirers and acceptance stakeholders as a key customer
- Expanding acceptance to realize the vision of a World Beyond Cash growing acceptance into new and untapped
- Supporting the diversification and transformation of the ASEAN acquiring landscape addressing and building
acceptance opportunities and solutions with QR, Mobile POS, Contactless etc.
The role holder will also lead the Singapore Transit initiative by being the face of Mastercard in the engagements with LTA, Digital Wallet operators, Acquirers and Issuers. He / She will also be responsible in partnering with the Regional Transit team to showcase the Singapore Transit story and help drive open loop Contactless payments for Transit and Tolls services across ASEAN.
The individual will be play the leadership role in partnering with the Acceptance Development teams in markets, regionally and globally, with close communication with country managers, account managers and product teams.
Understanding customer needs, marketplace dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape in the industry/function and considering the external impact of business activities and decisions on the external environment.
Experience leading multiple projects/initiatives; able to quickly grasp new ideas; able to simplify strategy into specific actions with clear accountability, making decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information, and communicating priorities clearly and concisely.
Open to change in response to new information, feedback, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations; able to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, including continuing to persevere and remaining calm in challenging circumstances
Partner with key constituents both internally (Sales and acceptance teams, business leads, regional presidents, country managers and functional group heads), as well as external resources (customers and merchants, regulators, third party service providers) to ensure seamless execution of the strategy.
Work closely with the Country Managers and Account teams in driving customer growth strategies primarily focusing on the Core business and Acceptance Expansion.
Support Country Teams and the SEA Team in working on our Issuers, Acquirers and PSPs on driving Core Business and expanding Acceptance and execution plans for driving VAS.
Own the Contactless, Transit and Debit eCommerce Acceleration execution plan with the Regional Lead and Account team
Work closely with the Payment Gateway team to help drive eCommerce use on debit in key markets Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Philippines.
Support RFPs and sales pitches to win new business opportunities Core business and other Acceptance / Processing opportunities
All About You:
Solid and progressive business, technology/operations and sales / pre-sales experience with demonstrated success.
BA/BSc degree required while advanced degree is preferred.
Good understanding of payment technology e.g. cards, EMV, mobile payments, eCommerce, Internet/Mobile banking, money transfer
Strong presentation, technical documentation and business proposal writing skills
Experience of working with both financial institutions and with mobile network operators
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment resulting in high-quality output
Strong financial skills are a must including budget and forecasting experiences.
Effectively interact at all levels of the organization from senior level executives to individual contributors
Familiarity with the account teams and MasterCard's financial process a plus.
Understanding MasterCard products and services (or ability to learn these quickly)
Superb project management skills. Highly organized; detail-oriented
Ability to identify issues before they develop into problems; proactively resolve issues directly or through escalation to appropriate partners.
Flexibility to travel in South East Asia at short notice
