Overview

Mastercard Cyber and Intelligence (C&I) develops and delivers world-class risk, security products, and services for Mastercard customers across the globe. As part of this organization, the Strategic Data Generation team is responsible for:

· Providing core data sources to internal Mastercard customers for use across our Cyber Risk portfolio

· Maintenance of existing and development of new tools for data driven products/services

Role

The Senior Software Development Engineer’s responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages (Ruby, Elixir, and Python). Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.

Ultimately, the role of the Senior Software Engineer is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

Responsibilities

· Execute full software development life cycle (SDLC)

· Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to identify requirements and solutions

· Produce specifications and determine operational feasibility

· Write well-designed, testable code

· Troubleshoot, debug and update existing systems

· Integrate new components into a fully operational software system

· Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback

Experiences

· Experience designing distributed applications

· Ability to develop software in Ruby, Python or Elixir

· Excellent knowledge of relational databases and SQL

· Knowledge and experience with queuing/messaging systems (e.g. RabbitMQ)

· Experience with wide range of data store technologies - PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, etc.

· Strong understanding of Software Engineering Concepts and agile methodology is required

· Ability to document requirements and specifications

· Experience with AWS and Terraform are a plus

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes are a plus

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or proven experience in relevant field
