Senior Professional, Pricing & Interchange operations
The Canada Market Development team executes against several strategic objectives related to expanding card acceptance, forging key partnerships, optimizing vital alliances and developing eco-systems for emerging payments.
The Pricing and Interchange team (P&I) is a component of Market Development and collaborates within Market Development and across all teams in the Canada region to develop and implement proposals that support business and product strategy and deliver profitable growth for MasterCard and its customers.
Develops/enhances tools/processes for tracking/forecasting interchange and providing actionable information/insights in support of calibrating interchange and/or supporting specific business strategies/strategic agreements
Leverages data to build models/frameworks for assessing pricing in consideration of benchmarks across direct competition, substitutive competitors and/or emerging payment providers; assess value of solutions and issue recommendations on value-pricing
Actively supports the development and management of the interchange and the pricing strategies for the region
Effectively uses data to derive insights and create economic models that underpin initiatives or product propositions to drive growth for MasterCard and its customers
Is simultaneously highly quantitative and requires strategic/creative thinking to solve for complex situations, multi-variable constructs and yet-to-be-defined emerging opportunities.
Works closely with Product, Finance and other stakeholders across the organization to design and optimize the economics of current and new products and value-added services
Participates in cross-functional teams and works closely with various internal and external stakeholders, e.g., Product, Finance, GTO, Legal, Customers, consultants,¦
Provide reporting and documentation of pricing and interchange to management and serves as the subject matter expert for pricing and interchange inquiries from both internal and external constituents.
Implements all interchange and pricing initiatives end-to-end
Actively manages key operational aspects of strategic agreements
Manages interchange and pricing internal and external documentation
Executes customer level analysis of billing revenue to track performance of Pricing initiatives
Actively supports certain billing activities
Executes bespoke investigations relative to reporting or billing, or as support to Market Development activities and client management
Ensures department compliance with data and records management policies
Limited global travel as needed
All about you:
Bachelors degree, with preference for quantitative focus. Advanced degree desirable, e.g. CPA, MBA
Experience leading and developing strategic and quantitative analysis on bankcard industry pricing and interchange.
Solid understanding of the end to end card economics within the bankcard industry, e.g. Issuing, Acquiring, Merchant, MA, competitive brands, etc.
Ability to oversee multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
Basic project management skills
Senior level presentation and communication skills
Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment
A strong team player who can operate effectively in a complex matrix
Have a strong drive and curiosity to learn, creativity, passion to achieve and excel
