Director, Product Management
Consumer credit portfolio consists of Mastercard’s Standard, World, World Elite and Muse offerings in the Canadian market and generates a significant share of Mastercard’s revenue in Canada.
Reporting into the head of Core Products in Canada, the Director, Consumer Credit will be part of a highly collaborative team that manages the four Core Products in the Canadian market – Consumer Credit, Debit, Prepaid, and Small Business. In addition to managing the Consumer Credit portfolio, this highly visible role will also support Mastercard’s strategy and execution in the rapidly evolving space of installments and point-of-sale (POS) financing.
Manage Consumer Credit portfolio for the Canada market. Key responsibilities include:
Define product strategy by understanding customer (issuers and cobrand merchant partners) and end user needs, anticipating future market trends, and conducting competitive analysis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Canada, North America, and globally and develop Canada specific go-to-market strategies for multiple initiatives while understanding the local market dynamics including competitive trends, and regulatory and pricing considerations.
Execute on the defined strategies and deliver best-in-class experience and value for end users by collaborating with and influencing internal and external partners, vendors, and customers .
Set portfolio objectives, define KPIs, monitor performance, and adjust as necessary to achieve the objectives.
Collaborate with Pricing & Interchange, Public Policy, and Legal teams to meet regulatory requirements while ensuring competitiveness for Mastercard’s products in the market.
Provides consultative product leadership acting as the Consumer Credit subject matter expert, externally representing the team at customer, partner, and vendor meetings, workshops, and events.
Support Installments and POS Financing strategy and execution for Canada market. Key responsibilities include:
Be the subject matter expert in Canada for Mastercard’s own installments solutions as well as for third party partnerships and provide thought leadership internally and externally. Be comfortable in strategic, tactical, and technical conversations.
Execute on the defined go-to-market strategy.
All About You
Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem; industry knowledge/experience.
Strong understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends; international markets knowledge/experience a plus.
Demonstrated experience leading product and technology projects to deliver new solutions and bring them to market.
Analytical capabilities and can apply these in defining and executing product plans.
Excellent ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to both business and technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify key issues, structure analysis, develop solid business cases and provide recommendations effectively.
Good relationship-building and influencing skills and can communicate persuasively within the organization as well as with customers and partners.
Excellent project management and presentation skills.
Ability to drive results and work independently in a self-directed manner while operating in a team environment.
