Job Description Summary
The Senior Commercial Product Analyst, CPS Product Development, Japan, is responsible for identifying, developing and delivering commercial client and issuer-centric product solutions to the markets that are aligned with global and regional priorities. The scope of responsibilities includes the development, management and localization of programs within the commercial product segment that will deliver differentiation in the marketplace for Mastercard and its customers inclusive of their Business, Corporate and Government clients.
The Commercial segment is the fastest growing in the market, driven by the adoption of innovative payment solutions and replacing traditional corporate cards. Current opportunities are not just for corporate clients to streamline payments in the Travel and Entertainment sectors, but also to drive big movements in B2B payment flows by integrating digital solutions into the B2B service providers.
This successful applicant will have an unrivaled opportunity to impact untapped segments where Cash still dominates, to develop “market de-facto standard” in commercial payment flows, and to create an epoch of big change by digitalizing and optimizing corporate payments/expense management process in next 5 years.
The position will require product and business development skills reporting to the Commercial Product lead in Japan.
Drive & execute commercial products strategy in Japan by developing a deep understanding of the segment through benchmarking, competitive analyses, and research; recommending best practices; and generating profitability analyses and business cases.
Support the Commercial Product strategy objectives according to project pipeline for Japan in support of product development for Corporate, Small Business and Government Clients.
Support the development of card programs, pricing, and non-card product strategies and roadmaps for continued growth in the segment.
Assist the sales team in a business development role in closing deals with Issuing banks and their corporate clients by communicating the product value proposition and establishing the project plan for solution implementation.
Support the development of business requirements with Issuers, Corporate clients, Service Providers and 3rd party processors.
Manage 3rd party vendors according to the contracted SLAs as per negotiated agreements.
Manage Mastercard Solution implementation projects, and work with internal/external stakeholders for successful implementation.
Post implementation support for issuing banks and service providers, by collaborating with Customer Support help desks in Japan and AP.
Serves as a point of contact for Commercial Markets product development to Corporate Clients, Merchants, Internal Partners, and Issuers within the region and globally.
Provides consultative product expertise for issuing banks and service providers, regarding product/feature/functionality of the Mastercard Commercial Product and Solutions
Manage Mastercard solution implementation projects for issuing banks, service providers and corporate clients.
Understands economic implications for Commercial Customers and the overall Global Product organization on MasterCard's business strategy and quantifies value of features for sales.
Takes personal responsibility for the performance management process; receives feedback with an open mind and adjusts work effort appropriately; pursues activities to develop relevant
Working experience in the field at least 3+ years (Mandatory)
Proven ability to integrate knowledge across disciplines (i.e., Sales, Product, operations) in an unstructured environment with minimal day-to-day supervision. (Mandatory)
Project Management skills in IT and Business projects （Mandatory）
Logical thinking and documentation skills (word/excel/word) in operational process flows, system diagram, and business eco-systems. (Mandatory)
Self motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating within a team environment （Mandatory）
Business Acumen with the ability to provide solutions that drive positive results to the customer and Mastercard (Mandatory)
Strong operational/technical background either in payments and financial services industry, Travel industry, IT/EMS, or Consulting Firm. (Preferred)
Strong presentation, written communication, and influencing skills (Preferred)
Knowledge of Commercial products and/or Corporate/Commercial Banking (Preferred)
Understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends (Preferred)
Fluency in Japanese and English and communicative skills. (Mandatory)
Bachelor's degree with Finance or Marketing focus required, MBA desirable.
