Manager, Network Engineering

Job Overview:

The Load Balancer Engineering Team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of the platform, including the Analysis, Design, Patching, and Building of all load balancer configurations at MasterCard. Advanced knowledge and experience in managing network projects, manage resources, design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site network communication environments.

Major Accountabilities:

•Manage network projects.

•Ensure department or project is adequately staffed trained and managed.

•Participate in strategic and financial planning.

•Conduct cost analyses and present alternative recommendations to senior management.

•Develop detailed requirements for upgrading existing MasterCard networks, as well as re-architecting network segments in order to facilitate new requirements, technologies and growth.

•Resolve network communications and operations problems impacting customer and performance globally.

•Participate in department initiatives and research and develop innovative solutions around unified network solutions.

•Support assigned regional projects, which include responsibility for planning; time and cost control; resource utilization and implementation and support vendor management.

Knowledge / Experience:

•Five to eight years of overall IT experience in the following areas:

•Networking, including LAN/WAN and Load Balancer technologies.

•Security and encryption technologies.

•Advanced experience with TCP/IP protocol communications.

•Advanced knowledge of Project Management methodology and best practices.

•Knowledge of Network diagnostics, BGP, SNMP, VPN, SSH, MPLS technologies.

Skills/ Abilities:

•Adaptable self-starter with demonstrated listening skills, verbal and written communication skills.

•Ability to establish plans and to assist in policy development with a strong knowledge of the business organizational strategy. •Requires management skills to coach other co-workers.

•Ability to focus on customer needs and to provide overall business or technical project planning for product enhancements.


•BS Degree or equivalent combination of experience and formal education.
