Director, Strategic Program Management


The Director of Strategic Program Management will report to the VP, Strategic Program Management within Mastercard Processing, Prepaid Management Services. This role works with business partners to align business and IT roadmaps, provide IT solutions to business opportunities, gather and document requirements, and prioritize projects in light of the economic measures and business cases for the line of business.


This role of Strategic Program Management is to drive a culture of continuous improvement through identification and prioritization of investment of enterprise solutions €“ beginning with transparency of cost, consumption and performance.

The director of SPM, will help drive alignment across all areas of development and product within the organization including:

Bringing visibility to the program€™s Work in Progress (WIP) to understand velocity and ensure efficient product development and other demand workflow

Engaging others in identifying future project needs and in finding key impactful areas for improvement while maintaining a safe balance of risks and rewards

Implementing a standard methodology that supports capacity management and prioritization

All About You:

Significant experience working within a global technology organization managing strategy development, broad program management or leading a development organization

Strong financial acumen and understanding of budget management as well as capacity and demand management

Strong understanding of development organization structure and Scaled Agile methodologies

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels

Ability to succeed through collaboration and working through internal and external organizations and individuals

Executive leadership capabilities and interpersonal skills required

Ability to learn and adjust to changing priorities

Ability to apply independent and business judgment to solve issues.

Work independently with minimal supervision required and can lead cross-functional teams to complete projects and initiatives using judgment, experience, and leadership skills.
