Job Title

Business Leader, Business Development

The objective of Business Development Leader is to develop markets opportunities to increase electronic payments penetration through MasterCard innovative products & solutions with new customers and new segments. This person has the responsibility to assure Mastercard issuance of new players for credit, debit and prepaid programs; develop new and non-traditional channels and build preference at new flows to accelerate growth of Mastercard business in Chile and Paraguay markets.


Lead business development activities in support of strategic opportunities to expand MasterCard business in under developed segments and/or cash only segments

Develops the sales pipeline, hunting new customers coordinating with product development and account management teams

Identify business opportunities to increase volume and share. Implement both short and long term

Prospects, contacts, and contracts new customers and business partners to improve market acceptance

Plays a lead role in conversations with key decision makers for new or emerging product opportunities

Provides input for long-term growth strategies to optimize mutual profitability across business lines

Build strong business cases including financial analysis to generate positive impacts for development opportunities for Mastercard programs.

Executes and manages the customer contract agreement process

Evaluates the deal process to deliver improvements, develops customers P&L (Budget and forecast process)

Enhances ongoing business development relationships (e.g., government, regulators, industry bodies)

Work effectively with other functional areas throughout the organization to harness resources and effect change/accomplishments through collaboration, influence management and emotional intelligence.

Ensure the coordination of all operational activities including project assignments, problem resolution and reporting.


Have extensive knowledge of cards industry, acquiring activities, merchant relationships.

Proven experience in complex sales and negotiation of commercial business alliances.

In-depth experience executing and managing business development strategies for large or complex countries/regions/industry verticals

Track record in achieving business development targets and building customer relationships through customer sales.

Advanced analytical, leadership, relationship management and interpersonal skills required.

Advanced interpersonal and communication skills required with a solid track record of developing external relationships.

English and Spanish oral and written communication skills.

Others: strong business/market/financial analysis and project management skills.
