Sr. HR Business Partner
The Director/HR Business Partner role, based in San Francisco, will be responsible for managing and performing a wide range of HR activities including, but not limited to, leadership development and succession planning, skills assessment, organization design, performance management, employee relations, employee coaching and mentoring, and compensation planning and administration. The role partners with the local executives to develop strategies and initiatives designed to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This role will serve as an advocate for employees in San Francisco and will develop and implement initiatives designed to enhance employee engagement, development and productivity.
In addition, this role will drive activities to successfully integrate employees from newly acquired companies into Mastercards processes, while preserving and enhancing the culture of the local teams and to create an entrepreneurial can-do atmosphere of a great place for personal and professional growth.
The ideal candidate will contribute at both the hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing innovative culture as the organization grows.
Develop strategies to ensure HR initiatives and programsincluding recruitment, onboarding, team-building and recognitionreinforce the companys culture and values and are differentiators in the market.
Roll out programs and initiatives that create an emotional connection to retain current employees, and to attract candidates with hot and critical skills in the highly competitive Silicon Valley market.
Develop strategies to integrate existing west coast businesses together as well as any new businesses.
Provide advice, counsel and solutions to the local senior leadership team, managers and employees, acting as a positive culture change agent.
Participate in the Performance Management cycle, including the talent review process (including leadership development, succession planning and skills assessment) and administration of the year-end performance review process (including partnering with managers during the salary/bonus process, ensuring awards are equitable and budgets are met).
Manage employee relations issues by coaching management and employees. Provide guidance on problem resolution, aligned with legal and organizational policies and regulations.
Working with our Global Talent Acquisition partners, interview final candidates and determine appropriate compensation.
Attend strategic planning meetings, and department leadership meetings to align HR initiative with operational initiatives.
Partner with the HR Centers-of-Expertise and other HRBPs on projects and initiatives.
Drives change in the San Francisco office by identifying local market trends and workplace benefits to attract and retain the best talent in Silicon Valley. Design and present findings to leadership team.
All About You:
The successful candidate must have experience building the relationships required to be an advocate for employees, and a trusted partner to business leaders and client groups, to enable the execution of their business strategy and initiatives
Demonstrated success as an HR Business Partner in a heavily matrixed, global organization; experience supporting teams in the technology or payments industry preferred
Core knowledge of HR principles, theories and concepts
Solid understanding of the San Francisco/Bay Area tech market
Experience in M&A integration helpful
Experience with Workday a plus
Bachelors degree required, advanced degree and/or certification in HR helpful
Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives exercising sound judgment, solutions orientation and flexibility.
Must have strong analytical, presentation, verbal and written communications skills.
