VP, Regional Acceptance Lead - North America


The Global Acceptance & Solutions organization is a significant contributor to MasterCard€™s strategic plan to expand global acceptance, drive incremental merchant locations and capture new revenue share through a focus on offering acceptance focused products, channels, services and solutions. The Region Acceptance Lead will own the go-to-market strategy for Global Acceptance products and solutions in their region working closely with senior leadership and internal stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in support of the Global Acceptance strategy by identifying new opportunities and providing knowledge of local markets and regions.


In cooperation with regional acceptance teams under Market Development, create and define a regional go-to-market strategy for commercializing our Global Acceptance and Solution products, identifying new revenue opportunities, broadening our footprint, and making sure we have clear product differentiation edge over the competition

Owning the NAM go-to-market strategy for acceptance products and solutions, working closely with digital payments, market development, CAMs, franchise development, gateway, ACH and all other teams that touch acceptance.

Working hand in hand with the Market Development head to deliver on the acceptance strategy by developing a parallel acceptance product strategy that identifies challenges, gaps, opportunities and product roadmaps by solutions and verticals.

Working with the Market Development team on immediate opportunities in the merchant space to package solutions that can be leveraged for winning business.

Develop products to meet the acceptance needs based on market landscape and provide sales enablement support to the market acceptance sales teams.

Integrate Global Acceptance objectives and targets into regional plans working closely with regional management and Market Development (e.g. acceptance growth, merchant product revenue, authorization rates, and acceptance at the base of the pyramid targets)

Support region in achieving the above targets by helping Global Acceptance and the regions develop and support the right products, value propositions and act as support of such products and strategies in such areas as regional expertise, pricing and rules, sharing of best practices from other regions, deliver sales support for Global Acceptance products, solutions and initiative and tracking progress.

Raise the profile and awareness of the Global Acceptance function within the Region with periodic communications, product demos, events, management briefings, etc.

Ensure that the Global Acceptance and Solutions team are aware of and incorporate local and region issues and opportunities into the overall framework of Global Acceptance Strategies.

Serve as the single point of contact to regional personnel for issues that belong to the Global Acceptance function within Core Products and own the resolution of issues by working with global team members and/or counterparts in other regions.

Lead Acceptance at the Base of the Pyramid in the region. Engage with other regional team members who have financial inclusion responsibilities to drive Acceptance, develop products, design partnerships, and commit to regional targets to reach our global ambition of including 40 MM micro entrepreneurs and small merchants by mid 2021

Represent the views, insights and interests of the region in the development and execution of the Global Acceptance strategy. Act as the conduit for customer feedback from the region to make sure that our products and solutions are tailored for local markets and that regional interests are represented.

Support relationships with local key acceptance value chain players in support of, and in coordination with, the Market Development team, as with other critical functions such as relationship managers, Customer Delivery, Marketing and Communications. Design and deliver training modules and other product support material as necessary

Act as a regional contact for highlights for Global Acceptance & Solutions management reports (quarterly dashboards, product and implementation roadmaps, etc)

All About You

Proven expertise in payments industry, specifically Acceptance with deep understanding of Merchants, Acquirers and other players in the acceptance ecosystem

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver products and solutions for customer needs

Ability to influence people at multiple levels and navigate a global, decentralized organization

Ability to successfully execute in a dynamic environment across multiple functional disciplines

Fully embraces digital world and understands its importance for future growth

Passion for financial inclusion and opportunities to serve the un-banked and under-banked

Skilled at building and maintaining strong, productive working relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers

Bachelor€™s degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
