Vice President, Account Management, Acquirers

Overview:

Our US Market Development organization is seeking to build a diverse, strategic, and consultative workforce of world-class industry leaders, relationship managers, problem-solvers and technologists. The VP of our Acquirer channel management team will lead a team of exceptional account managers who focus on the formation and execution of strategic partnerships with the top acquirers in the US market and the world. Partnering with Acquirers is one of the most important channels available to drive our Acceptance strategies and to deliver payment solutions, data and services, and cyber/intelligence solutions while leveraging Mastercard’s strong brand, technology, services, and platforms. This is a highly visible and important position inside and outside of Mastercard serving on important industry events and groups.

Role:

  • Execute the strategy to grow new acceptance, migrate acceptance to digital including network tokenization, Click to Pay (SRC), EMV/NFC migration through key partnerships with merchant services providers

  • Represent Mastercard, our strategy, and point of view at industry events and groups to help drive positive change in the payments ecosystem

  • Act as internal expert on all things Acquiring and Acceptance related in the market, and represent Acquirers perspectives internally at Mastercard

  • Work with a cross-functional team to establish sales goals and use sales management disciplines to track key sales metrics/pipeline and successfully manage team to exceed goals

  • Be a thought leader and participate in creating and deploying new ideas and concepts that meet the needs of the Acquiring ecosystem

  • Lead and manage a high performance team

All About You:

  • Deep experience and established relationships within the merchant acquiring industry

  • High performance team leader that gets the best out of people through individual development planning, coaching and mentoring

  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of exceeding metrics and delivering success while operating in a team and/or cross functional environment

  • Strong passion for and knowledge/expertise in Merchant Acquiring as well as an understanding of digital trends and how they both impact and can be leveraged to meet customer and business needs

  • Proven track record engaging with C-suite level individuals within Payments and/or Banking services – ability to form strategic relationships with key decision makers

  • Excellent oral and written communication, negotiation, analytical, and project management skills. Ability to develop strategic points of view and to facilitate or lead discussions and debate with senior executives

  • Forward-thinking with ability to deliver creative solutions that meet business and customer needs

  • Analytical problem solver with an ability to identify key issues, structure analysis and provide recommendations effectively

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree preferred.
