The Technology Risk Management (TRM) organization is a business enabler and industry leader of technology and security risk management practices, supported by a multi-disciplinary team of top security, technology, and risk professionals. Our mission is to provide enhanced visibility and proactive management of technology risks and ensuring strong security and sound operational environment.
The Risk Governance & Operations (RG&O) team within TRM is looking for a Director, Technology Risk - Operational Resilience to lead and manage our operational resilience practices and capabilities as we expand our business and as regulatory and industry expectations regarding resilience continue to evolve. The ideal candidate is an expert in operational resilience policies and practices, highly motivated, intellectually curious, and able to work with a diverse stakeholder group to ensure that our operational resilience framework enables Mastercard to continue to deliver on our customer promises.
Oversee the documentation and ongoing management of Mastercard’s Operational Resilience Framework and practice, working closely with Business Operations, Enterprise Resilience (business continuity / technical recovery teams) and other partner teams to ensure clearly-defined roles and responsibilities.
Work closely with stakeholders (for example, our product management, software engineering, business operations, and enterprise resilience teams) to ensure that our practices, policies, and standards are designed to effectively meet all applicable customer and regulatory requirements regarding operational resilience, and ensure that the framework evolves as stakeholder needs, industry best practices, and technology capabilities change over time.
Collaborate with various internal policy and standard owners to ensure that all external requirements and industry best practices regarding operational resiliency are understood and addressed within our framework.
Support and/or manage internal project teams as needed to identify and evaluate the implications of new or revised external standards or mandates regarding operational resilience.
Collaborate with our Stakeholder Assurance team to develop and maintain a set of communications assets that articulate our operational resilience framework and practices when needed.
Partner with Enterprise Risk Management and other teams as needed to deliver clear, accurate, and timely executive- and board-level reporting & insights regarding operational resilience.
All About You
The ideal candidate for this role will:
Have experience developing and managing operational resilience programs ideally in a large, global, heavily-regulated environment—ideally financial services or another critical national infrastructure / systemically important industry or sector.
Be able to effectively translate stakeholder requirements (both regulatory and customer) into a set of practices that can be implemented and managed to ensure appropriate operational resilience across our business.
Be skilled at explaining technical problems and capabilities succinctly and clearly, across all communications mediums and to a diverse group of stakeholders and end-users, including senior executives.
Be very familiar with industry best practices and regulatory expectations regarding operational resilience, especially related to financial services / payments sector, including resilience standards around systemically important payment systems
Know how to manage stakeholder relationships and navigate scenarios in which divergent stakeholder viewpoints and requirements may exist, and sometimes may appear to conflict.
Have strong IT and project management skills, and a strong technical acumen.
Be passionate for the discipline of operational resilience, and effectively disseminate that passion to your stakeholders and internal customers.

Have a degree in information security management, information technology management, data protection, or a similar / related discipline.
