Job Title

Director, Product Management, New Consumer Flows

The Global P2P Product Management team is part of the Consumer Solutions for Issuers global product organisation, and is focused on accelerating Mastercard’s participation in P2P in response to current and emerging payment trends. P2P represents a key strategic opportunity for Mastercard, e.g.:

  • Addressing incremental strategic flows (c.$19T globally)

  • Engaging with consumers across inherently social payments and driving brand relevance

  • Addressing disintermediation risk and driving multi-rail value

Against this context, this team is responsible for defining and executing against Mastercard’s P2P product strategy, including supporting the launch of P2P solutions across markets, driving Mastercard’s deeper engagement with external partners (e.g. digital players, domestic incumbents), and broader development of a compelling Mastercard P2P product construct leveraging broader products and services

The Director, Product Management - within the Consumer Solutions for Issuers group focuses on:

  • Understanding and helping inform Mastercard’s global P2P strategy

  • Driving execution of the strategy by communication with key stakeholders across Digital Partnerships, Digital Product, NPP and IMK

  • Building good relationships with these stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities by market and client - and driving opportunities

  • Maintaining a current view of the global P2P landscape: attractiveness, readiness, competition, MA disintermediation - by market

  • Tracking current and planned P2P activity with Mastercard, e.g. launches by region

  • Building foundational P2P materials to support customer pitches and inputting to wider Send / NPP foundational sales materials

  • Supporting creation of a P2P centre of excellence, drafting case studies and lessons learned to improve go forward pitches / implementations

  • Sharing P2P opportunities and MA P2P capabilities directly with customers, in liaison with account teams and digital partners

  • Gathering requirements to inform end to end P2P product constructs for new solutions and markets – and working closely with the team’s VP, Product Development, to support creation of these end to end constructs

  • Supporting some program management of large P2P initiatives, to help drive activities to implementation

  • Liaising with regional NPP teams to migrate P2P opportunities from strategic concept into practical delivery implementations

  • Driving prioritisation and delivery via Studio/PME methodology for new product enhancements where required to support a P2P opportunity, e.g. P2P with SRC

  • Build and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders across P2P assets e.g. NPP, Send, SRC, Digital Partners

All About You/ Key Requirements

  • Detailed experience in payments industry / financial services

  • Experience in digital payments such as mobile banking and ecommerce

  • Background or experience in creating and/or delivering products (and associated features) that enhance the end-user experience by leveraging emerging technologies and trends

  • Strong collaboration skills with an ability to influence and lead cross functional teams, manage internal stakeholders and drive tasks to completion

  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work with and influence people across the organisation

  • Pro-active, collaborative and dynamic operating style

  • Good customer facing experience, confident liaising with customers across multiple levels

  • Strong project management experience and demonstration of effective leadership in key technology projects from start to end of delivery

  • Passionate for delivering the best customer and consumer experience into live in every product development effort
