Director, New Consumer, Global Prepaid Product Management


The New Consumer Product Management team is responsible for developing, leading and executing the long term plan to bring the next 500 million consumers onto the Mastercard network, helping the 3 billion underserved consumers around the world gain access and start using financial services.

These include government solutions (eg. Payroll, disbursement of social benefits), organized labor solutions (eg. Payroll), micro merchant solutions for the base of the pyramid.

The New Consumer Director will be responsible to identify and build solutions tailored to capture and convert cash related inflows and outflows to electronic/digital means within the Agriculture vertical. These solutions may be new or a bundling of existing Mastercard products and services, and will target commodities where the current ecosystem and supply chain is predominately cash based, and the majority of participants are underserved

Research and identify key use cases, inflows/outflows and new consumers to be targeted

Translate market needs into product strategy and product requirements

Develop concepts & products that are scalable and replicable across numerous markets, adhering to the Product Management Excellence discipline

Identify and engage with key partners (Financial Institutions, NGO€™s, Digital Players, Major Agriculture €œBrands€, etc.) where needed

Manage the business plan & requirements for existing product solutions and new opportunities in the agriculture space, including product concepts, pilots, and go-to-market plans

Monitor and maintain expertise in the competitive landscape and react, adjust, or capitalize on accordingly.

Monitors performance metrics that assess product performance, revenue, share, and other key metrics; utilizes results to ideate innovative solutions to challenges in the portfolio

Develops value propositions for products and key customer segments

May be responsible for the overall product financial performance including P&L

Demonstrate a strong passion for Financial Inclusion and the benefits it has to help bring consumers out of the cycle of poverty and into the world€™s formal economy.

Solid understanding of the consumer segment and entire value chain: needs, competitive offerings and industry trends within a variety of regional/global marketplaces

Experience translating strategies into product launches and implementation plan in multiple markets

Experience managing product portfolios

Possess good relationship management skills and high level of communications, and presentation skills, including the ability to negotiate, work with, and influence people across the organization

Excellent knowledge of all critical Microsoft Office programs (Excel and PowerPoint, Access or MS Project would be preferred).

MBA or Master's degree preferred

Ability to undertake business travel (15%+)
