Director, Digital Marketing


The US Marketing and Communications team helps deliver financial and franchise goals and advance a world beyond cash for the company, as well as continue to grow the value of the brand; by creating and strengthening Mastercard’s competitive differentiation leading to stakeholder preference, adoption and loyalty.

Reporting to the Vice President, Media Planning the Director US Digital and Social Marketing plays a critical role leading our website. He/she will lead digital marketing initiatives that deliver new and or updated content to support the product and initiatives available to our US Consumers and B2B customers, Communications and Marketing Strategy/Services; both locally and globally.

US Digital Marketing is responsible for leading the end to end development and management of digital programs and the supporting analytics, using a combination of data, strategy, and creative to push the Mastercard’s brand further into the digital ecosystem.

The US Digital lead is also responsible for the management of our digital agency(s), collaboration with cross functional marketing teams to co-develop (with brand team) and manage a digital content strategy & architecture.

The candidate is responsible for the implementation and the optimization of all digital marketing tactics for and other issuer, merchant programs. Knowledge of analytics, creative, mobile, and other emerging technology effecting consumers.

The candidate must work with our DXP development partners, for microsite builds.

Adhere to Data Privacy onboarding requirement for US programs that collect PCI or PII data.

Partner with Technical Project Manager for Third Party Onboarding Process.

Approve Aprimo request for US Digital Initiatives.

Build email campaigns and conduct end to end testing.

Work with the program management team as a digital lead to deliver website programs on time and within budget, project set-up, reporting, stakeholder engagement and communication, and ongoing cadence of project operation management.

Performance Management Optimization, responsible for defining program measurement frameworks and test & learn, KPI performance and ROI measurement.

• Leadership, leads projects and digital agencies to ensures compliance (CCPA/GDPR, Third Party risk Management).

• Business alignment – Effectively communicate with sales and product teams; coordinate with other internal Marketing Teams to ensure that partnership goals with Issuers, Merchants are met

• Regional lead for website.

• Deploy web content, landing pages using Mastercard’s content management system and Mastercard’s marketing automation system

• Work closely with Mastercard technical teams and digital community to ensure tight integration across family of Mastercard websites and channels

• Establish and interpret online brand identity guidelines, interactive standards, demand and lead generation practices

• Evolve the look/feel, flow and usability of the Data & Services website to ensure the best possible customer experience through:

 Continuous refinement of site/page templates, wireframes/storyboards, pattern libraries, image libraries, interactive elements and video

 Identification and articulation of areas of improvements

• Transform presentations and communications into highly innovative, appealing digital experiences that create awareness and engage customers

• Develop/refine e-mail campaigns, landing pages, blog posts, lead generation forms.

Oversee and maintain technical documentation for applications, processes and workflow though APRIMO

• Track statistics and metrics with an ability to spot key trends to improve usability

• Participate in ideation of visualization elements that will be added to websites/mobile apps as the presentation layer

All About You:

• Significant professional experience with large corporate or B2B technical environments, including solid experience in web design/development and the relationship between content, design, technology and communications

• Proven ability to manage projects from ideation to production with a thorough understanding of bringing digital content from creative to execution to management

• Proven ability to drive awareness, demand generation and engagement from digital content and campaigns

• Proficient level of enterprise content management systems Adobe Experience Manager and B2B marketing automation tools such as Pardot/Salesforce

•Experience strategizing, designing and executing A/B testing campaigns using Adobe Target with the ability to manage and present report results

• Knowledge of Chat Bot builds and optimization

• Building an App and or A/R V/R experience

• End to End UAT Testing

• Proficient knowledge of web analytics tools; experience with Adobe Analytics

• Thorough understanding of SEO principles and search analytics

• Serve as a subject matter expert in digital campaigns; constantly seek industry best practices in web design, information design and architecture and marketing technology best practices

• Strong communication skills and creative visual storytelling skills; effectively collaborate with designers, marketing managers, executives to provide creative solutions and recommendations

• Adept at both Windows and Mac environment and Microsoft Office suite

• Must be versatile, self-motivated, well organized and pay close attention to details; able to effectively prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment

• Bachelor degree in marketing or computer science, interactive design, from an accredited four-year college or university
