Director, Content Development


The Director of Content Development will create thought leadership content for Mastercard. They will partner with the product organization to develop compelling and concise pieces meant to inform sales conversations with our customers. This person must be experienced in taking complex business solutions and turning them into simple and compelling stories that appeal to customers. The stories must be engaging and demonstrate Mastercard€™s unique value to customers.


This Director will be a part of a Global Content team to enhance Mastercard€™s sales narratives to customers. They will personally develop the content in partnership with a team of graphic designers. These pieces will come in two primary forms; market intelligence reports which articulate an outside in view on a topic and sales narratives which articulate Mastercard€™s strategic approach and points of differentiation on the topic.

The Director of Content Development will be effective at working with multiple teams, under a pressured time period, taking complex information and simplifying it, while demonstrating a strong opinion with a flexible style. The ability to influence at all levels, while listening and adjusting based on others knowledge is key to success. They should have expertise in content development and an assembly of written works with results to demonstrate capability and efficacy of work.

All About You:

The candidate will report directly to the VP B2B Marketing located in Purchase, NY and will develop a wide variety of creative written communications.

Creative storytelling of corporate value propositions and complex technologies in a simplified way

Development of clear concise explanation of topics from an outside in perspective

Transforming business propositions and company offerings into clear effective and differentiated statements

Translating content into compelling statements that influence and create more engagement with customers

Superior communication and presentation skills in working with all levels of leadership within a large organization

The candidate will have (or is):

Strong communication skills and creative storytelling skills; effectively collaborate with other designers, marketing managers, executives to provide creative solutions and recommendations

Must be versatile, self-motivated, well organized and pay close attention to details; able to effectively prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment

Demonstrated ability to create fact based perception shifting value stories

Global expertise

Proven track record of directing agencies / third parties

Knowledge of financial services

Bachelor of Arts in English or similar degree

Past experience supporting an organization with content development with creative services is preferred
