Java Consultant / Tech Lead with Spring
Labs as a Service is the innovation arm of Mastercard Advisors, Mastercards global consulting group. Labs as a Service is responsible for driving innovation with our Global clients including rapid prototyping, software piloting through to commercial product development
Senior Engineer responsible for the delivery of pilot services to meet the needs of our global client base
Lead specific client initiatives from initial problem definition through to development, testing and support
Contribute to the development of the piloting platform to support our client engagements
Be an advocate and driver for the agile development process in Labs as a Service
Work with global stakeholders on requirements definition, estimation and planning
All About You
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Software Engineering concepts including Agile Methodologies, CI/CD etc. is required.
Demonstrate Mastercard Core Competencies.
Comprehensive experience with the following: Object Oriented Programming (Java), Spring, Unix Shell, Databases, API definition
Desirable skills would include knowledge of the cloud foundry/Pivotal development stack and cloud computing (12 factor coding paradigm). Experience developing solutions in the payments space and working with financial services processors such as TSYS and Fiserv
Ability to be high-energy, detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment along with a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.
Strong communication skills -- both verbal and written and strong relationship, collaboration skills and organizational skills.
Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies, frameworks and tools and support multiple concurrent activities and to interface with external / internal resources, working as a member of a matrix based diverse and geographically distributed project team.
