Lead Software Development Engineer - Merchant Loyalty

As a member of the Shared Services Group - you will be front and center on the scale, reliability, security, cost, and performance of the Merchant Loyalty SAAS platform that processes hundreds of millions of real-time transactions per day.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on developer who writes high quality, secure code that is modular, functional and testable.

  • Spans both the application tier, and, the infrastructure underlying the application tier. From writing Golang code to interface with Vault or our APM stack, to optimizing ECS capacity providers, to evaluating the most cost-effective infra to run the app tier on - the candidate for this role have the ability to wear multiple hats over time.

  • May lead medium-sized project/initiatives as an individual contributor with advanced knowledge within discipline, leading a segment of several initiatives or a larger initiative, or may formally supervise a small team, and assigns day-to-day work

  • Oversees and provides technical support to junior team members

  • Significant code development, code review and modest day-to-day support duties

  • Contribute to all parts of the software’s development including design, development, documentation, and testing

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Golang development. Candidates with C, C++, C#, Rust, or Python will also be considered.

  • Proficiency with Infra as Code - such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or CDK

  • AWS Experience - we are heavily into ec2, ecs, rds, dynamodb, elasticache, etc.

  • Experienced Linux dev. Additional Windows experience is a plus.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable fault tolerant low latency, high throughput OLTP platforms
