Agile Coach / Scrum Master

Overview 

As an Agile Coach at Mastercard, you will help train our engineering teams on the agile methodology and oversee the development of agile teams to ensure effective outcomes for the organization. You will be responsible for guiding teams through the constant improvement process and will be tasked with encouraging engineers and leadership to embrace the agile method.

You will coach, mentor, and guide our people to figure out the best solutions for their specific challenges. You will analyze the organization's existing ways of working and implement improvements to help streamline activities and create efficiencies. Ultimately, you will play a key role in the long-term strategy across the entire organization, helping our teams to deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner.

Agile Coach is a member of the Engineering Operations team in a global Engineering organization, our team is responsible for transformation and improvement toward operational excellence. We support success and cultivate an agile mindset across the organization.

As an Agile Coach, you will… 

➨ Provide a whole spectrum of coaching, mentoring, and training techniques to support the needs of individuals, teams, and leadership.

➨ Be a facilitator who encourages the scrum teams’ growth and maturity with using the agile framework, enabling them to solve problems and optimize best practices 

➨ Support multiple distributed Scrum teams, utilizing agile processes and techniques and helping to remove impediments 

  ➨ Lead selected Scrum events according to the team needs and support the Scrum self-organizing principle

  ➨ Enable your teams to have positive and productive meetings by providing feedback, designing and facilitating them as requested or needed 

  ➨ Identify and diagnose process issues and risks, perform periodic health checks and agile maturation and process improvement 

  ➨ Work closely with technical product owners, helping them to always focus on the highest-value items and assisting them in managing the expectations of the stakeholders

➨ Conceptualize, rationalize, and drive project(s) to deliver engineering work across the portfolio, while maintaining focus towards the business value of the completed increments 

➨ Monitor, escalate, and assist in clearing project impediments, working with the product team and engineering leadership on solutions or escalation paths

➨ Have experience working in software development, with an understanding of the SDLC within a sprint-based agile methodology 

➨ Can communicate to executives, peers, and teams with diplomacy, impact, eloquence, and authenticity 

➨ A strong change agent who can influence mindset and behaviors, including those of senior leaders, business teams, architects, engineers, and product managers

➨ Demonstrate ability to operate with independence and autonomy toward shared goals 

➨ Demonstrate constant curiosity and desire to learn new things

➨ Demonstrate experience building relationships, partnering with and influencing dependent teams while commanding the respect of the individuals you work with across the organization
