Senior Engineer, Software Engineering

This position will play a key role in creating modern switching solution applications for Mastercard.



Participate in PoCs (Proof of Concept) and help the Department with selection of Vendor Solutions, Technologies, Methodologies and Frameworks.

Work closely with technical leads for assigned projects to assist in design and implementation tasks

Plan, design and develop technical solutions and alternatives to meet business requirements in adherence with Mastercard standards, processes and best practices.

Deliver automation to the current release implementation process, assisting the DevOps.

Conduct brownbag sessions on new and upcoming technologies, methodologies and application appropriate frameworks.

Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.

Assist with production support issues by acting as a subject matter expert in resolving incidents and problem tickets.

Required Skills:


Experienced in building platforms with micro service architecture and APIs using cloud-native approaches running on Linux, Apache Tomcat environments along with virtualization like Kubernetes, Docker etc.

Experienced in Apache Kafka, application development in C++, Java, ESQL, etc.

Deep knowledge of networking technologies and messaging protocols. Understanding of the Linux networking stack, system configuration, and socket programming.

Experience with software development methodologies, particularly with Agile.

Delivered scalable products that were deployed on-prem and cloud infrastructure. Automate Everything (CI/CD).

Ensure quality across the full stack of your products and platform via rigorous automated software build, testing (unit, functional, integration), using continuous integration and automated deployment & automated monitoring practices.

Strong writing and verbal communication skills

Additional Preferred Skills:


Experience with high volume, low latency transaction processing systems (such as payments transaction switching, high frequency trading systems or global real-time event streaming systems etc.)

Experience with message queuing, TCP/IP services, MQ Series clustering/optimization

Demonstrates a clear understanding of tuning Linux/Aix servers for the best performance.

Perform Capacity planning for platforms.


BS or MS in Computer Science
