Senior Consultant, User Experience

Overview

Mastercard Connect provides our customers with one global portal to explore, enroll, service, and grow their business with Mastercard. The Connect UX Design team is a small, multi-disciplined group responsible for creating engaging and usable products.

The User Experience Leader is a highly skilled designer and a creative leader. As a User Experience Leader you will lead small teams of designers to help create products that drive the vision of Mastercard Connect: Make it easy to do business with Mastercard.

Role

The User Experience Leader has:

A deep passion for the user centered design process

Comfort working collaboratively with team members from other creative disciplines, business stakeholders, customers, and developers

Fluency in the user centered design process from user needs definition to the creation of production ready specifications

Lead design activities from end user research through conceptual designs, through to wireframes and visual designs that specify a highly usable experience across a portfolio of product experiences

Ensure that designs deliver an appropriate balance of optimizing business objectives & user engagement, in close partnership with product managers

Troubleshoot with development partners during the design/build/test/launch cycle. Ensure that designs are effectively translated into the software builds.

A desire to lead small design teams with direction from creative leadership

A commitment to constant learning and a desire to develop as a designer and a leader

Advanced skills with relevant UX design tools (Sketch and InVision preferred)

Knowledge of agile development processes and experience with agile UX design

All About You

An expert in leading the design of web and mobile experiences across a portfolio of products from concept to wireframes & final design deliverables

Demonstrated expertise working in complex, cross functional teams with strong influence, communication and partnership skills.

Strong track record of experiences that have positive consumer feedback, adoption and engagement.

Ability to synthesize feedback from multiple areas (usability testing, customer feedback, metrics, etc.) to drive continual improvements.

Helps identify, coach and groom top talent and pro-actively develop talent across the broader experience design team.

Education:

BS degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Advanced degree preferred

Specialized training/experience in Customer Experience (CX), User Experience (UX), Information Architecture (IA) or Interface Design preferred

Knowledge / Experience:

Advanced knowledge in the field

Work Conditions:

Travel may be required, anticipated to be less than 25%
