Manager, Software Engineering
This position is a member of the MasterCard development leadership focusing on development of MasterCard Personal Payments Platform. The Emerging Payments - Personal Payments Team is responsible for software development, integration, and support of key applications. This individual will be part of an important initiative to deliver MasterCard 3.0

Ensure product development meets MasterCards business needs.
Ensure development teams use the appropriate MasterCard standard development methodologies and follow our technology standards, and that all projects and development are appropriately documented.
Ensure that software and system design and delivery support the goal of zero down time in production.
Identify and recruit top notch talent to build a world class software development organization.
Work closely with business partners on product definition, product roadmaps, business case development, and overall direction for the team.
Ensure approved staffing levels are maintained, departmental and staff education, training and cross training needs are met.
Ensure that staff has skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully through effective communication of goals, objectives, performance and, as necessary, improvement plans.
Build a world class organization by hiring the appropriate resources, establishing practices/standards and enforcing rules
Assist with the creation of training materials and development activities to advance the team.
Communicate development efforts and concerns with business, architect and project leads
Manage deployment & staffing schedules ensuring business continuity through a rigorous change management process
Find efficiencies in production support (tools & resources) to maximize value

Follows and enforces the coding standards as established in the team and an understanding of Java, Spring, Hibernate, jBoss, Apache, Web Application development and solid grasp on relational database modeling and design.
Ability to acquire and retain top talent.
Management skills necessary to provide functional and directional guidance to direct and indirect staff.
Ability to set direction and assure appropriate business outcomes of large or complex projects.
Ability to approve and implement policy and provide strategic direction for the organization.
Excellent Communication skills required to interact across multiple organizational levels of internal and external customer groups.
