Manager, People Analytics

Overview

The Manager, People Analytics will be a member of the People Data & Analytics CoE which provides data, analytics, and consultative support across global business units and regions.

This individual will bring experience in people analytics, the HR functional domain, and program management to drive highly visible global initiatives for People & Capability (P&C) that help Mastercard make data-driven decisions about talent. You will have responsibility for consulting with business leaders to understand their unique challenges and provide strategic decision support through data and analytics. Competitive candidates will be detail-oriented, execution-focused, and accomplished at driving quantifiable results within a matrix organization.

Role

o Works closely with business partners to provide strategic decision support through people data and analytics

o Supports the Operations & Technology (O&T) organization with reporting, metrics, dashboards, and diagnostic analytics

o Applies knowledge in quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as data visualization to surface clear and compelling narratives that inform O&T strategy

o Provides thought leadership to convert inputs from stakeholder teams into creative, scalable analytics solutions with measurable impact

o Sees beyond requestors’ asks to understand the root query or challenge for which data and analytics are being sought

o Defines, validates, and enforces people data integrity in collaboration with systems teams

o Provides program management support for performance management, talent reviews, employee experience surveys, and other key activities as warranted

o Collaborates with data science and automation capability teams to scale analytics POCs and automate manual tasks

o Demonstrates exceptional judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data

All About You

Essential

o Strong ability to see the forest for the trees, and implement creative strategies to reduce ad-hoc request volume and increase value

o Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data using tools such as SQL, R, or Python

o Experience with one or more enterprise-grade BI tools (Tableau preferred)

o Strong understanding of research methodologies and hypothesis development and testing

o Proficiency in descriptive and inferential statistics

o Experience providing innovative analytical solutions that have lasting impact in multiple dimensions – strategic, operational, and financial

o Ability to translate results of complex analyses into data-driven insights to ensure key messages resonate with the target audience

o End-to-end analytics lifecycle expertise: diagnosis, data cleaning, integration and transformation, analysis, visualization, and presentation

o Ability to collaborate with peers and cross functional teams, working across multiple time zones

o Creative and nimble with ability to overcome obstacles to solve hard problems

o Flexible and responsive, with ability to adapt to rapid change in direction or business priority

o Openness to feedback and strong self-awareness

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills

o Ability to work within the confines of data governance and privacy standards

Desirable

o Familiarity with ETL tool capabilities and utility (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica)

o Knowledge of ML models and use cases (e.g., classification, clustering)

o Experience with HR data (Workday preferred)

o Experience operating in an Agile/Scrum environment preferred

o Experience in relationship building across large scale organizations

Education

o Master’s degree in I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Management, Business Analytics, or a related discipline highly preferred
