Overview

The Event Framework team is looking for a lead software engineer to implement large scale distributed systems by actively engaging in design discussions and consistently producing high quality code. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving highly complex problems, motivated, and has an intellectually curious mindset.

Role

• Design and implement highly resilient large scale distributed systems using event driven architectures

• Write code to build and enhance applications/services and promote code-reviews, code scanning, and other standard development practices to deliver high-quality artifacts to production.

• Define, design, and develop procedures and solutions at a service level to meet the business requirements/enhancements

• Drive prioritization decisions and trade-offs in working with product partners

• Automate and simplify all aspects of software delivery and development actively evangelizing the need to automate and simplify where needed.

• Introduce new technologies and architecture aligning to enterprise guidelines by conducting POCs

• Provide development and architecture guidance to team members

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should have following experience and skillsets:

• Proven track record of implementing products in AWS (and/or) Azure environments

• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code and cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, using CloudFormation, Terraform, Jenkins, Bamboo, or other tools

• Experience with designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Excellent understanding of Java (including Spring Boot) and familiar with secure coding standards (e.g., OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT) and vulnerabilities

• Understands use cases for advanced design patterns (e.g., service-to-worker, MVC, API gateway, intercepting filter, dependency injection, lazy loading, all from the gang of four) to implement efficient code

• Understands internals of operating systems (Windows, Linux) to write interoperable and performant code

• Able to perform debugging and troubleshooting to analyze core, heap, thread dumps and remove coding errors

• Experience with event driven systems is a plus
