Engineer, Software Engineering

Job Overview:

Provide ongoing technical expertise and support to the development lifecycles of MasterCard products and ancillary applications. Focus may be on core and/or non-core products and in various stages of the overall project cycle. Close partnership with Business Analysis and the technology teams to ensure that business and functional requirements are aligned appropriately with MasterCard Technologies. Will have good working knowledge of MasterCard applications and systems. Focus area will be Enterprise Service Solutions (Fraud).

Major Accountabilities:

Accountabilities will include some but not necessarily all depending upon specific role:

Provide technical analysis of product or application hardware and software to ensure that business and functional requirements can be met

Provide technical support to Business Owners during implementation of new products/services

Develop in batch environment

Testing and working with TCOE staff

Create design considerations that assists team with front-end changes

Manage defect resolution process

May manage smaller project/initiatives as an experienced individual contributor with specialized knowledge within assigned discipline

Creates documentation such as user guides and software development guides for moderately-complex projects

Assists team members in the development of applications, components, system to system interfaces and complete software solutions

Significant code development, code review and day-to-day support duties

Conduct root cause analysis and advanced performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality.

Education:

Bachelor€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

Knowledge / Experience:

Solid technical knowledge and capability

Demonstration of MC Core Competencies

Provides support of applications software through programming, analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions. Researches alternative technical solutions for changing business needs.

Experience is SQL

Writing Complex SQL Queries

Unix Shell Scripting

Relational Database Experience

Data Mapping, Data Modeling, Data Mining, and Data Warehousing/Mart

Skills/ Abilities:

High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.

High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization skills
