Director, Technology M&A Due Diligence and Integration Program Management

The Mastercard Operations & Technology (O&T) Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team supports the full lifecycle of technology related M&A activities, from target identification, strategic company/partner technology evaluations, technology due diligence, and the leadership of technology integrations.

This role will lead cross-functional teams to conduct technology due diligence and integration of companies in support of Mastercard’s M&A initiatives.

The Role:

Leading M&A technology activities across the full deal lifecycle from early-stage evaluations, due diligence, integration and transition to Business as Usual (BAU);

  • Work with senior stakeholders across the organization (including Operations and Technology, Product and Engineering, Corporate Development/Strategy, and global and regional product owners) to understand deal/partnership rationale and value drivers.

  • Provide technology insight and leadership as deals progress from early evaluation, through diligence, and into integration.

  • Identify, build and lead teams of technology subject matter experts to assess target company’s technology, processes, tools and organisation quickly and accurately during diligence.

  • Drive analysis to uncover issues, risks, and opportunities across all areas of technology including organisation, process, tools, technology, architecture, hardware, software, data, hosting, SDLC, and so on.

  • Clearly articulate and document insights as to the suitability of a target businesses technology to achieve strategic and business goals, including potential synergies, risks and mitigation strategies.

  • Develop integration strategies into executable plans and lead the integration of acquisitions to ensure business goals are met while driving alignment to Mastercard operational and security standards.

About You:

  • Very strong program management skills, highly organized with attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in leading the initiation and formation of large global hardware and software based technology projects including architecting, estimating, planning, and execution.

  • Proactively learns the needs of internal or external customers and takes appropriate action to meet customer expectations; strong ability to drive for change based on end-user needs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, both technical and business oriented, with experience communicating to diverse audiences at all levels of the organization up to and including C level.

  • Financial planning and management experience.

  • Understanding of payments industry, the mobile and/or ecommerce market and related technologies.

  • Able to build strong, trust based, relationships and partnerships between all stakeholders across Mastercard and acquired companies.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate successful outcomes across a broad range of key stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project.

  • Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) degree.
