Director, Data Capabilities


• The Data Sources team in the Data Strategy & Management organization (Chief Data Office) is responsible for the management, acquisition, ingestion and evaluation of enterprise data and data capabilities, utilized by a wide range of Mastercard product teams.

• The Director, Data Capabilities will have global responsibility for leading the strategy, and managing the evaluation and implementation, of various Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Working with the technology teams, and data product manager, the candidate will design and implement new data solutions to support enterprise needs.


Director, Data Capabilities

• Develop and implement a strategy to for using privacy enhancing technologies on products and services at Mastercard. Ensure that privacy is enhanced in the usage of these capabilities.

• Align that strategy with the development of new products and services that consume that data, as well as leading initiatives with product owners to enhance existing products.

• Partnering with Data Privacy, define the vision for PETs at Mastercard, based on in depth analysis of vendors and technology capabilities. Be an enterprise thought leader.

• Managing a matrixed set of dedicated resources, lead the analysis, vendor selection and contracting for various PET projects leveraging an array of technologies and vendors.

• Serve as a corporate subject matter expert on PETs, to support the organization’s product development efforts that leverage those capabilities.

• Work with data platforms and technology teams to implement global technology platforms. Ensure that supported technologies and platforms are seamlessly integrated with one another as well as with various products and services.

• Supervise and improve the operational processes associated with the construction and maintenance of these assets. Develop educational material and train, as needed, on these tools and processes. Disseminate and educate others on same. Develop feedback loop from internal data users, including across the Data Strategy and Management team, and implement required improvements.

• Provide leadership to projects piloting these capabilities in various markets, ensuring business objectives are defined, risks and issues managed and business outcomes are delivered.

All About You

• Advanced experience working with data products, either in acquisition, development, or evaluation

• Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematical, engineering, or technology

• Program management experience

• Ability to communicate to internal and external stakeholders about the value of data; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to present complicated concepts in a clear and cogent manner

• Strong understanding of emerging technologies including but not limited to, cloud architecture, machine learning/AI and Big Data infrastructure

• Strong understanding of Mastercard systems

• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships across the enterprise

• Data management or data analytics experience preferred
