Analyst, Billing Product Support

Overview

The Billing Services department provides centralized billing for products and services billed to customers using the MasterCard Consolidated Billing System (MCBS). MCBS supports the billing for all MasterCard branded transactions, Cirrus/Maestro switch fees, assessment fees, and various other fees.

Our mission is to provide core billing services, drive billing assurance, provide value added services, and enable growth as MasterCard advances commerce globally.

Role

Analyze and respond to inquiries from other MasterCard support teams on billing related questions.

Set up Customer information within the billing system (Add, Change, and Delete)

Implement new Billing Events and Customer Specific Rates

Provide timely and accurate responses, while always putting the customer first

Perform credit memo and manual billing calculations. Process the associated calculations in the Simple Billing Tool and verify proper approvals were obtained per policy.

Provide ad hoc reporting analysis for internal and external customers

Participate with audit & independent accounting firms to provide details on current controls, assist with inquiry of controls, ensure adherence to controls, and identify control improvements

Maintain ownership of assigned functions, communicate status as appropriate, and maintain desktop procedures to support controls

Analyze billing data, identifying trends and revenue issues, and document follow up and resolution

On call support duties required (2 month of the year)

Ability to fully research and understand issues/concepts in order to get to full resolution. Ability to see and understand entire end-to-end process is key

Familiar with analytic tools (MS Access, MS Excel, Alteryx) to manipulate and analyze data trends

Ability to provide timely and high quality request fulfillment to achieve customer satisfaction

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good organizational skills; team player

Ability to manage multiple tasks

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced global environment

Must work well in a cross-functional environment

Works well without direct supervision/works independently

Good business writing skills and effective presentations skills

Experience with transaction billing systems and finance industry a plus
