VP, Technology Process Engineering

Vice President, Technology Process Engineering

Reporting to the Head of Technology Strategy and Transformation, the Vice President, Technology Process Engineering is responsible for leading process innovation and change within Mastercard Technology, including working closely with senior stakeholders across Mastercard. This role leads the Process Engineering function with Mastercard Technology focused on developing and executing initiatives to harness process efficiency and effectiveness and change management. Furthermore, it is upon the Vice President to ensure the use of world-class technology-based systems and processes to guarantee solutions deliver efficient, secure, and effective experiences.

The Role

1/ Accelerating the transformation of Mastercard as a leading technology company in close collaboration with the Mastercard Technology leadership

• Developing and leading initiatives across Mastercard that will allow moving towards operating like a leading technology company

• Building strategic communications assets and change management practices to support the ongoing transformation through mechanisms that enable us to operate as a leading technology company

• Leading change management with teams and stakeholders on how to adopt more technology forward practices and behaviors

• Getting called upon to represent Mastercard at external key events, contributing to expert panels and sharing best practices

2/ Ensure Mastercard Technology industry leadership by driving change initiatives across the organization

• Leading the development, formulation and communication around technology innovation strategies and objectives

• Partnering with business leaders (e.g., CEO, CFO, Head of Product, Head of Technology) to design, evaluate and advance their technology strategies, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy

• Creating and implementing the strategy, roadmap, resourcing and business cases to drive and deliver our technology leadership objectives

• Actively understand Mastercard market position vs competitors and competing technology

• Monitors the organization's needs and performances against targets and evaluates potential issues to implement change leadership and action plans

3/ Standing up a world leading change management, innovation and operating model and organization

• Developing the overall change and innovation model and engaging with team members by creating a motivating work environment that recognizes, holds team members accountable, and rewards strong performance.

• Understanding the interventions required to sustain Mastercard’s industry leadership

• Assigning clear tasks and objectives and establishing performance indicators for monitoring results versus objectives

• Leading the development and sharing of best practices and knowledge that build on the MasterCard’s abilities to proactively address risks and priorities

• Partnering with business leaders to design, evaluate and advance new operating model, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy

All about you

• Results-proven track record of exceeding goals; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, experience and judgment

• Technology background and understanding of how processes and systems deliver impact across large organizations

• Experience from working with leading global Technology or Fintech organizations

• Experience in personnel, budget, risk, and resource management

• Deep understanding of world leading agile and technology business management practices

• Experience in the payments domain preferred

• Ability to connect both on an individual level and in large groups; capacity to enforce accountability, cultivate entrepreneurship and learn the strengths and weaknesses of the team to put people in a position to succeed

• Demonstrated experience as a leader with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent

• Commitment to diversity and ethical, accountable, and transparent leadership

• Highly developed presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (both verbal and written)

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or engineering or equivalent work or education-related experience. Master of Business Administration or other advanced degree strongly preferred
