Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, SRC

Overview

Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) is a global standard issued by the EMVCo designed to power digital checkout experience that deliver the security, convenience, and control currently offered to consumers in the physical world. Mastercard’s implementation of SRC, built off of EMVCo’s SRC specifications, enhances guest checkout to offer greater security, convenience and choice for consumers, together with our partners. As Mastercard continues to scale SRC, our goal is to enable great digital payment experiences whenever and wherever consumers shop.

The Senior Vice President, Software Development Engineer provides senior leadership to Mastercard global development teams focusing on development of SRC. This role hires and develops a high-performance software development organization as well assumes the responsibility for designing, developing and supporting platform components for MasterCard’s digital commerce products. In addition, this role is a regional representative for Digital Commerce Technologies and a key member of the Digital Programs leadership team.

Role

• Build and run highly scalable platform components that support our digital commerce platform and the product and customers that leverage the technology.

• Define the structures and operating mechanisms to run your organization while shifting to a data driven and continuous learning culture across your organization

• Inspect the delivery plans and execution metrics using your own tech depth and delivery experience to assess risks and continuously raising the bar

• Define and build your own scorecard to continuously monitor engineering metrics

• Provide technical thought leadership for the organization

• Build and cultivate strong internal customer relationships to establish engagement models for your team, ensure delivery of quality products in alignment with expectations, and uncover cross company requirements.

• Handle escalations

• Actively encourage the development of your managers and your technical staff while continuously raising the bar on performance, technical depth, program management results, and people management as you hire new managers

• Communicate with savviness in dealing with big issuers and someone who understands the cultural variances across different countries.

All About You

• Technical leader who has built highly scalable and configurable platforms at leading technology or financial companies

• Lead large technical global organizations of 150+ in premium technology organization

• Has the executive presence to work with senior leaders within Mastercard and with our customers, the largest global banks and fintechs in the world

• Deep experience in working in services and cloud based technical stack

• Transformation experience highly desirable

• Extensive experience in designing and developing consumer facing eCommerce and Mobile Commerce products is a must have

• Experience managing multiple functional areas within technology such as technical architecture, software development, system testing, and production support

• Understands architecture, trade-offs and how to build platforms

• Deep experience in everything automation – QA, deployment, everything

• Experience with software development methodologies, particularly with Agile methodologies. Also, experience in large scale agile development

• Experienced in building mobile applications, Java EE, Spring framework, different JS frameworks such as Vue or Node

• Real world experience of CI/CD, QA automation and in Chef / Puppet deployment environments

• Has great intuition for execution and seeing problems ahead of time

• Experience building highly skilled technology teams and working with vendors

• Experience in the payments domain desirable
