Senior UX / Visual Designer

Job Overview

Your Role at the Company:

• Build storyboards, wireframes, visual designs and user flows to conceptualize designs in order to accurately convey project plans to partners and senior management

• Craft engaging experiences that drive adoption and use in-market through thoughtful and usable interaction, content and visual design

• Create experience prototypes to evaluate product and end-customer assumptions

• Enhance current user experiences by creating a seamless user experience through various digital programs and interfaces within the company

• Facilitate stakeholders’ understanding of the journey and collaborate with the team to identify which product or feature level opportunities yield the biggest customer impact

• Leverage product data and market research to identify opportunities for both new products and existing feature improvements

• Work with in-house research and content design teams to ensure the best possible user experience

• Localization of solutions to specific regions, as needed. This may include design, researching what is appropriate in each country, researching what competitors do in similar scenarios, in order to make thoroughly considered design decisions

• Develop a quick understanding of the Mastercard products and product organization

• Be the design ambassador and articulate design decisions to product design, engineering, and product

• Advocate for and practice inclusive design and accessibility

Your Qualifications & Expertise:

• 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in creating and implementing UX and visual design for desktop and mobile devices

• Strong visual design skills are a must

• Proficient with design programs such as Sketch, Figma, InVision, Mural, Adobe Suite and other leading design tools and applications

• Experience working with and maintaining design systems and component libraries

• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and comparable languages or experience working with developers

• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing design solutions

• Careful consideration of how the customer will interact with the product, from overall journey level down to the smallest details

• Design Thinking skills that demonstrate success in bringing products to market

• Show a strong awareness of common interaction patterns and know when and how to apply

• Professional written and interpersonal skills when communicating with customers

• Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects efficiently

• Account for challenges using problem-solving or critical thinking skills while seeking to optimize data for the best possible outcome

• Experience creating storyboards, wireframes, visual designs

Not essential, but nice to have:

• Illustration or video skills are a huge a plus

• Journey mapping, or service blueprint knowledge

• Research skills and working knowledge of research and testing software like Wevo
