Senior Engineer, Software Engineering -(Development Standards and Metrics)


Development Standards and Metrics is responsible for driving initiatives towards bringing about uniformity and consistency across several verticals in MasterCard. This enables team deliver high quality software and faster time to market.

We drive engineering excellence by providing standards on technology, development and design. We provide efficient software artifacts, create data driven tools to enable teams analyze the metrics.

Hands-on senior developer who brings considerable experience with application-layer development for both web and mobile web applications, using Cloud technologies.

Responsible for developing tools in order to capture metrics for measurement of developer statistics across Digital, Marketing Business Services & Loyalty (DMBSL) organization.

Develop wide range of tools to fetch data from multiple sources like Bitbucket and ALM (Rally), generate metrics/graphs and provide valuable analysis.

Enable teams bridge gaps in a continuous predictive model improving are applications/services KPIs, team/developer productivity and engagement, cost-effectiveness etc.

Responsible for design, implementation, test, automation for these tools.

Participate in code-reviews to drive quality and engineering excellence across board.

Conduct demos, tech talks and provide vendor tool analysis and documentation.

Good knowledge of Agile/Scrum, software development processes.

Experience translating functional product requirements into application-layer code, standards and metrics.

Experience with logging and monitoring frameworks.

Good understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD)

Essential Skills:

Creating and debugging J2EE REST Web Services and Web Applications

Database experience including Oracle and SQL scripting

Experience with Spring Framework (including Spring Boot) and Maven

Experience writing unit tests with Junit

Experience working with JBoss and/or Apache Tomcat

Java, J2EE, Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Aspects, etc.), JPA, JSF, Junit, Web Services (SOAP & REST), JSON/XML, TomCat, Log4j, Eclipse STS, SQL, Oracle DB Server, Redis, SQL/NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Python, Scripting (Python, Shell etc.).

Deep understanding of SDLC, SCM (Git, Bit bucket etc.)

Well familiar with Development best practices and standards

Well versed with Architecture and Design methodologies

Experience developing software tools

Good collaboration skills
