This role is dedicated to supporting and delivery on the strategy and city programs. As part of the Global Cities team, this role will help manage cross-functional workstreams, focus on developing relationships with target cities, and become SME’s for internal products and services.
The interest to work with local governments is important for this role, as the core mission of Global Cities is to bring the full suite of Mastercard resources to the table – leaning on an expert who knows Mastercard’s inventory of expertise will be critical. There are designated leads for each cross-functional team but understanding the Mastercard landscape and the ability to call on internal networks will be helpful in this role. Experience and/or interest in the public sector will be beneficial as the role is largely external facing with elected officials, including Mayors, their teams, agency heads and operational staff.
• Ability to function as a team member in a time-compressed, highly dynamic, and ambiguous environment to ensure deliverables are achieved
• Demonstrated ability to manage time bound projects and multiple commitments/priorities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with others at all levels of the organization including senior leaders, executive management, and consultants.
• Exposure to forming industry partnerships and consortiums, handling their governance, and packaging offerings from multiple entities into horizontal platforms.
• Incumbent will be involved in high-level contact with internal/external stakeholders and may be exposed to sensitive information, must demonstrate confidentiality, good business judgment and diplomacy
• Ability to keep pulse of cities’ needs and develop accurate summaries of key developments for Mastercard executives
• Understanding the landscape of local communities and/or working with NGOs and community partners is a plus
• Attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
