Job Title

Lead, Data Security and Access Controls

As part of Mastercard’s Technology Risk Management team, the Data Security and Access Controls role will lead compliance and assurance efforts around emerging data security and protection regulations and requirements. You will be responsible for implementing technology controls and ensuring compliance of Mastercard products and services with global data security protections, with specific focus on geographic, role, and identity access management. You will identify technology controls and solutions to demonstrate compliance, enable monitoring and reporting on data protection requirements, and support wider data security initiatives across Mastercard. This critical role also supports Mastercard’s technology risk and transformation teams.

The Role

• Identify control gaps with identity access management processes and systems globally, provide recommendations, and track to completion, as directed.

• Understand security controls related to access processes and provide recommendations for remediating issues in multiple digital and technology related functional areas including cyber, data analytics, applications support, and infrastructure, in close collaboration with data protection compliance and assurance functions

• Advise business process owners on performing root cause analysis over identified issues, monitoring control deficiencies and mitigation, developing remediation plans to mitigate risk through the development of operational and business unit controls

• Analyze existing and emerging data-related laws and regulations and advise on appropriate controls.

• Identify enhancements of existing access processes and controls, and partner with key stakeholders to lead efforts to drive recommendations

• Identify automation opportunities to deliver smarter and easier identity access management services, supporting “access as an enabler” strategy

• Develop effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, auditors, process and control owners and functional staff

• Understand and interact with related disciplines through different committees and projects to ensure the consistent application of policies and standards across all technology functions.

All about you

• Strong skills in identity access management pillars such as, but not limited to, roles, entitlements, access certifications, and segregation of duties

• Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements

• Strong skills in Information Security / ITGCs

• Highly effective verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels including outside traditional reporting lines

• Experience working within digital and technology functions ideally in a compliance role.

• Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills

• Ability to work under pressure, in sometimes ambiguous circumstances

• Produce analysis to support strategic and senior level decision making

• Good work ethic and ability to fulfill responsibilities with limited supervision while maintaining effective communications with relevant internal stakeholders.

• Proven experience working globally in a decentralized organization

• Compliance/Risk/Audit related certifications are a plus (CISA/CISSP/Etc.)
