Job Title

Director, Software Engineering

Job Overview:

The position is part of the Network Solutions program team. It will lead strategy, engineering and operations end-to-end for identified services under the program. Position will partner closely with the P&E Product Development team to understand and influence tech strategy and ensure the best possible solutions to meet program objectives. These objectives are centered around enabling our customers to deliver benefits to and drive engagement as we build and bring to life new products and services on the fastest global payment network.

The position is also responsible for ensuring adherence to Mastercard technology and security standards, specifications, processes, and best practices.

Role:

  • Establish a North Star metric, in partnership with the P&E Product Development team, to guide strategy and prioritization of engineering efforts.

  • Partner with Domain Owners and P&E Payment Networks team to identify innovative solutions and drive strategic decisions.

  • Define the initial scope/requirements of platform efforts, architect high-quality solutions, provide estimates for solutions, and manage the scope and delivery against commercial milestones during the life-cycle of platform efforts.

  • Actively seek for opportunities for Innovation and creative problem solving.

  • Lead implementation of processes and supporting tools per the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Identify process gaps

  • Ensure the program team is adequately staffed; trained and managed. Ensure personnel have appropriate skills and behaviors; and effectively communicate performance results; as necessary, managing each effort within approved manpower and budget guidelines.

  • Establish & monitor objectives for the staff members to align with business unit strategies and objectives.

  • Communicate clearly, simply, and concisely to various levels and across functions to ensure shared understanding.

  • Support strategic planning; financial planning; administration and management

All About You

  • Proven experience leading all aspects of technology solutions delivery, from definition through operations/run.

  • Must have People Management experience 2-3 years and should have leadership qualities

  • 8+ years of experience in product/framework/tools development, upgrades, and production support for defects, vulnerability fixes, compliance & migrations

  • 5+ years of experience with multiple diverse (cross functional) teams, working ability with strong matrix organization, experience conducting formal performance reviews

  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management, Strategic Planning, and Agile/Scrum Methodology

  • Understanding of and advanced experience with Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies.

  • Ability to deal with pressure situation without compromising the processes

  • Ability and knowledge to assist in policy development

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in related functional area or equivalent work experience with exposure to management theories and concepts.

NYC Salary Range: €75,000 - €120,000
