• Mastercard Labs as a Service is a leading-edge global digital innovation practice, delivering a range of innovation programs which incorporate the best in design thinking and agile development processes.

• Labs as a Service supports Mastercard customers and partners with Innovation and Digital Transformation Advisory Services – delivering customized innovation programs, products and support - tailored to meet client-specific business challenges.

About the Digital Safari Program (DS)

• The Digital Safari Program connects Mastercard customers (typically retail or acquiring banks) with thought leaders, innovation mavericks and academics, with the objective of educating, inspiring and provoking attendees, to help them on their digital transformation journeys.

• The themes that the Safari program typically address revolve around;

o Innovation (mindset, culture and best practice methodologies..),

o Regulatory & Technology Enhancement (Open Banking, Real Time Payments, the Future of Retail..)

o Blockchain and Digital Assets (Decentralisation, Crypto, CBDCs, NFTs..)

o Big Data and AI (from personalisation to fraud detection)

o Sustainable Development (to influence change for a more sustainable future for all)

o New Customer Experiences (enhanced ways to interact with customers, leveraging emerging tech such as AR/VR and biometrics)

o Disruption (technologies, evolving trends and consumer behaviours, new business models)

• Digital Safaris are immersive, multi-day programs (in-person or virtual), that provide inspiration for attendees, offering immediate and actionable insight and foresight that enhances strategic decision making,


• Own the Digital Safari Program; a leading edge thought leadership and digital services program within LaaS, for the North America (NAM) and Latin America Caribbean (LAC) regions.

• Own the delivery of the Safari program for customers from other regions travelling to NAM and LAC on Digital Safari.

• Proactively mobilizes, orchestrates, and accelerates complex initiatives with dependent organizations to ensure successful execution and completion of Digital Safaris.

• Be a lead advocate for innovation within the Mastercard customer base, serving as one of the faces of Labs as a Service both internally & externally in North and Latin America.


• Own the planning, execution, and delivery, from inception to completion within schedule and budget, for the Digital Safari Program; a leading edge thought leadership and digital services program within LaaS, for the North America and Latin America regions.

• Align with internal stakeholders across Mastercard including the wider LaaS team, Data & Services, market, and product teams to develop and execute proactively on new market initiatives and business development strategies to achieve Digital Safari financial and non-financial targets.

• Drive overall planning, execution and delivery for teams inside and outside of your organization to deliver the expected financial and non-financial targets

• The tactical responsibilities will include building a portfolio of contributors that will provide real insight and foresight to our customers across multiple Safari themes, including; Digital Innovation, Blockchain and Digital Assets, Sustainability and more. These contributors will be University Professors, academics, journalists, subject matter experts, investors, fintech founders, futurists etc..

• In particular, collaborate with the Safari operations support team, to develop robust scalable processes that ensures seamless program development and execution on an ongoing basis.

• Leverage the Safari program to Identify, discover, assess, and drive new potential business lines / products / platforms for LaaS, Data and Services (D&S) and core products; both internally and externally.

• Propose alternative, desirable, feasible and viable program structures.

• Support other Labs as a Service initiatives, both within the team or Mastercard organisation itself and externally with customers

• Identify risks that could impact on the success of the Digital Safari program and surface mitigation approaches

• Build and cultivate strong internal customer relationships to establish effective engagement models to ensure execution delivery is in alignment with expectations

• Manage escalations from/to all levels.

What we’re looking for.

• Demonstrated experience in innovation, program management and/or consulting

• Demonstrated experience as a leading contributor to innovation projects and initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience with business development for large, innovative, and agile organizations.

• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams translating customer requirements into program priorities.

• Demonstrated experience selling and/or delivering innovation and/or thought leadership solutions and services.

• A willingness to travel essential

• Spanish fluency strongly preferred

• Experience in facilitation preferred
