Job Title

Rebates & Incentives Controller - Mexico

Leads all Controllership duties for Mexico with a strong focus on Rebates & Incentives. Mexico is the second largest country in LAC with FY Net Revenue of USD $147MM & $180M of contra revenue. Key activities include:

Drive deal performance tracking by working with account managers, BDF & FP&A to align on metrics, performance and accounting as well as with account planning to drive consistency and accountability across all areas.

Understand and provide guidance on complex deals and transactions, and assess/address accounting / operationalization / risk implications including deal performance monitoring.

Support legal and BD finance to develop the Contract Deal accounting summary, and perform the Contract Deal Accounting treatment.

Manage the monthly closing and reporting process for, ensuring accurate and timely accounting and internal/external reporting including variance analysis, intercompany and monthly review of account reconciliations, in coordination with FP&A and the GBSC.

Ensure a strong control environment by establishing, monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls based on corporate guidelines and general governance standards. Monitor and enforce compliance with MasterCard policies and procedures.

Good understand of FX accounting and ability to manage the book of records for foreign subsidiaries/investments.

Drive compliance in the areas of deals, accounting (including intercompany), internal control, process, compliance, risk, regulatory/statutory requirements, treasury, tax, internal/external audit domestic and foreign entities, as well as adhoc projects for all or specific divisions/entities, in partnership with FP&A, business owners, corporate functions and the GBSC (shared service center).

Ensure ongoing compliance with local statutory and regulatory requirements; anticipate future legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; advise management on needed actions.

Partner with Tax to ensure accounting/compliance/strategy are well coordinated and supported.

Interacts with GBSC and Deloitte on execution and performance

Experience/Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent experience in financial analysis and/or deal management.

Master in Finance/MBA a plus.

CPA required

Bilingual (English-Spanish)

Competencies and Skills:

Strong levels of drive and energy

Experience assessing effectiveness and implementing accounting controls and ensuring compliance

Experience identifying and implementing process improvement activities, makes recommendations to further improve procedures

Experience operating in a diverse, multi-functional accounting and/or finance group

Financial analysis and accounting background

Experience reviewing and analyzing own work and work of colleagues for appropriate accounting treatment

Excellent communication skills.

Experience driving and building relationships with business partners

Has a good understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP), SEC reporting and Sarbanes Oxley.

Working knowledge of Oracle, Hyperion, Excel, PowerPoint
