Director, Product Management

The Director uses the entire range of company products and services (Digital Services and Labs) to construct the proposition that best meet the needs of the issuer and meets the interests of MasterCard. To do this, the Director needs to create focus on leveraging MAs assets to enable the issuer/acquirer to quickly advance a digital strategy in LAC markets, with a goal moving share from competitors to MA in a meaningful way. Initial key markets being Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

This role uses his/her deep knowledge on the company products and services (Digital Payments and Labs) to guarantee the correct implementation of the proposition that best meet the needs of the bank and meets the interests of MasterCard.

To do this, the role needs to have a deep understanding of functional and technical requirements of Mastercard digital assets as well as core business to speed up the go to live in all the region.

The Director is a significant contributor to MasterCard€™s strategic plan to reach scale in digital commerce and growing the MA and issuer/acquirer portfolio.

Role

-Based in digital strategy defined by global and local teams in BBVA and Mastercard, the role must help define functional requirements to guarantee coherence and maximize synergies in global implementations

-The director must be able to read and understand technical specifications to help define the GAP analysis between BBVA requirements and Mastercard services

-Capability to frame the strategic priorities for the account in each market, create value propositions as well as product development processes

-Strong ability to connect the dots and leverage business acumen and technology to create a winning solution and problem solve real time

-Have deep understanding of products life cycle management in a technology company to be able to influence and prioritize BBVA in Mastercard€™s product roadmaps

-Understanding of financial sector from both issuer and acquirer sides. Additional understanding of current trends and changes along industry in digital transformation

-Lead, implement and execute, on high complexity multinational projects

-Collaborate with appropriate Mastercard teams such as Customer Delivery, CIS, O&T to ensure cross-functional alignment and maximum support

-Provide regional direction and feedback to global on behalf of MA and the issuer/acquirer

-Understand the fundamentals of the MA business

-Act as a team player, with an entrepreneurial spirit and flexibility in regards to deliverables

All About You

-Strong experience as product manager or product engineer, especially for financial services

-Technical background to be able to talk to technical profiles in both organizations

-Excellent project management skills, with strong problem solving, analytical, quantitative communication and organizational skills

-Seniority to lead executive conversations with seniors internally and externally

-Self-starter, independent and objective driven mindset

-Develop and leverage key relationships

-Understand the diverse needs and objectives of various stakeholders

-Demonstrate cross functional knowledge of how MasterCard makes money

-Excellent writing, presentation and public speaking skills in English and Spanish

-Bachelor€™s degree (Master€™s preferred) in Engineering or Information Systems

-Availability to travel 50% of the time

Knowledge required:

-Payment wallets and/or tokenization

-Digital payments on credit and debit accounts

-Knowledge of network switching, ATM channel and/or transaction processing
