Main Purpose of role

As countries around the world are seeking to develop modern real time payment systems, Vocalink is looking to

participate by restructuring into a product organization and making significant investment over the next few years

into Infrastructure, Services and Applications.

In this position reporting to the VP, Commercial Finance, the incumbent will work in partnership with the Product

and Sales leadership teams to drive forward product strategy and maximize return on investment. The incumbent

will lead a team of finance business partners and have the support of functions including the Business Analytics

Team, Global Business Services Centre and Controllership.

The role holder will be an integral member of the Mastercard Worldwide Finance team and have multiple

opportunities to interact with both finance colleagues and other business teams across different parts of

Mastercard. As a highly innovative technology organisation and one of the world€™s top 20 recognised brands,

new eco-systems to developing investment cases for new technologies.

Key accountabilities and duties

 Co-development and implementation of product strategy and market entry strategy through differentiated

value propositions, pricing, product features and partner terms

 Develop bid model, driving consistent assumptions, performance criteria and presentations. Review and

manage approval of key investments and bids

 Drive return on investment by identifying opportunities and challenging Sales and Products to leverage

infrastructure assets to upsell value added services from Vocalink and other Mastercard product verticals

 Liaison with external advisers where necessary to ensure appropriate counsel sort for tax matters,

regulatory issues as well as commercial construct relating to new business activity, strategy and

business development.

 Rapid assessment of new opportunities and where attractive, fast track development within the product


 Utilisation of Salesforce across all products and markets to manage and accelerate pipeline

development and gain insights to drive deal progression and closure

 Produce and present product financials and associated insights, from current performance to future

forecasts, including tracking against product investment business cases and bids

 Monitor the landscape of competitive products and industry trends, understand their implications for

Vocalink and Mastercard and modulate the roadmap and bid approaches as needed for greatest impact

 Identify products and initiatives across Mastercard which Vocalink can either leverage or contribute

 Provide financial and commercial insight to other finance teams including O&T finance, BAT,

Controllership and GBSC to ensure they are able to support the business through developing and

operating effective financial processes and support

 Lead and develop a motivated and effective team of finance business partners

 Knowledge of and/or experience with technology products.

 Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional capacity and an understanding of how to

commercialize products. Able to work across a wide range of stakeholders

 Candidate should be able to demonstrate a level of business acumen and thought leadership

 Demonstrate strong influencing skills

 Demonstrate proven ability to develop quantifiable business plans

 Have an entrepreneurial approach

 Strong communication skills from written, verbal and presentation perspectives

 Demonstrate multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e. operations, finance, technologies.

 Travel €“ Occasional overseas and between UK sites
