Contract Management Director
To assist the business in the development and negotiation of customer contracts including to be responsible for the management of negotiations, developing and implementing negotiation strategies; development of contract collateral (schedules, plans etc); management of pre-contract workstreams working closely with other business areas (Legal, O&T, Delivery, Risk, Compliance, Sales, Product and Finance) to ensure timely input and review of information required for contracts
To assist in the bid process, including development of specific standards for bidding, maintenance of bid collateral, and management of bid process and developing bid strategy.
To provide handover of contract post-signature to relevant designated business unit contract administrator, including provision of contract summary and other supporting documentation
To ensure effective management of contracting process
Setting of contracting strategy including negotiating teams (where necessary)
To negotiate within boundaries of approved business plan / model and to escalate any potential adverse financial impact on the Company as a result of change to negotiated positions
To keep the contract relationships open and constructive, aiming to resolve or ease tensions and identify problems early
Regular briefings to exec and senior management team
Close working with multi-disciplinary team (including representatives from IT, commercial functions, finance, legal and external advisers)
Ensure that contracts and proposals are properly entered into organizational databases and securely maintained.
Develop standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, general language and provisions.
Perform appropriate administrative and operational research to support proposal and contract development.
Conduct contract strategy meetings to identify issues and client requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain senior management input on timelines and deliverables.
Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations.
Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets.
Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with business partners and internal clients about contractual issues.
Undertake periodic review of contractual performance of both parties to ensure compliance with terms and to identify conflicts or changes requiring resolution at contract renewal.
All about you
Bachelors degree in business, or related field preferred. (In some cases, an advanced degree may be desirable.)
Prior work experience in a contract management role, such as purchasing or contracting.
Proficiency in utilizing and interpreting financial models and analyses.
Experience in applying organizational standards when developing requests for proposals, negotiating terms and drafting contracts.
Ability to systematically analyze complex problems, draw relevant conclusions and implement appropriate solutions.
Strong verbal and written skills, and ability to convey complex information in a way that others can readily follow.
Excellent negotiating and persuasive skills, both in one-on-one and group situations.
Knowledge of the global payments sector and a keen interest in emerging technology
Demonstrated ability to work within and across geographical boundaries within a matrix environment
Adaptable, agile, open-minded approach, embraces change
Selection, selling and marketing to the banking and retail sector.
Experience in the banking, finance, IT or telecoms industry,
Experienced business leader operating at C suite level.
An ability to make important decisions under pressure and balance delivery and quality
Experience of successfully forming joint ventures
Experience in mergers and acquisitions.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving and interpersonal skills
