VP Product Management, Global Payments and Connectivity

Overview

This individual will be responsible for the “global coverage” value proposition of the Mastercard Payment Gateway Service, acting as overall business owner for the payment methods and acquirer connectivity supported by the Gateway. This will include strategy definition, competitive assessment, product positioning, and P&L management, as well as overseeing the full lifecycle of new product features, from ideation through definition, development, commercial launch, and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

•Lead a team of Product Management professionals in various locations, coaching and developing them to achieve their potential, in compliance with Mastercard goal setting, appraisal, and career development processes.

•Lead product management for MPGS acceptance and processing of global payment methods, including alternative payment methods (APMs), digital payments (e.g., xPays, SRC), and domestic schemes. Define the strategy and roadmap, balancing market relevance and trends with demand from strategic customers, and drive development via internal teams as well as with strategic partners.

•Lead product management for MPGS acquirer connectivity, ensuring that we deliver the value of our acquirer network to our customers. Document our existing capabilities and execute on new acquirer integrations that expand our footprint into new geographies. Drive strategic programs to ensure efficiency in delivery of acquirer connectivity.

•Establish and execute on partnerships to maximize MPGS reach in delivering global payment methods and acquirer connectivity.

•Define the Value Proposition for merchants, acquirers, and partners, and collaborate with Product Marketing and Market Product Management to communicate to the Mastercard sales team, customers, and the market. Act as the expert, advocate and champion for Global Payments and Connectivity to internal and external stakeholders.

•Ideate, develop, and launch new product features using the Mastercard Product Management Excellence (PME) Framework, ensuring awareness and support from all relevant stakeholders including Finance, Legal, Marketing, Support, Operations, Regional Product, and other key stakeholders, to ensure the “whole product” related to new product features, including ensuring that the value proposition is well defined, the sales teams are enabled, and the features can be sold, implemented, supported monitored, and billed.

•Create business cases for all new product features, using relevant tools such as Business Model Canvas, to articulate the reason to invest resources in further development. Lead broad commercialization initiatives including establishing go-to-market approach and key performance indicators, setting objectives in partnership with Market Product Management, and driving commercial plans to ensure success.

•Team with Market Product Management and other stakeholders to support key sales opportunities.

•Work with O&T to drive the successful development of new features, leveraging SAFe to ensure that new initiatives are prioritized, resourced, and delivered in a way that meets customer and end-user needs.

Experiences

•Deep knowledge and experience with the eCommerce merchant ecosystem, especially experience with Payment Gateways and PSPs.

•Experience with alternative payment methods, domestic payment schemes, or other “non-traditional” payment methods.

•Ability to straddle both the commercial and technical realms, tying business objectives to technical implementation, with the ability to go both “wide” and “deep” as needed.

•Experience interacting with customers, including in business development capacities, translating customer business requirements to solutions, and positioning products to meet customer needs.

•Experience developing a product strategy and associated go-to-market plans and product roadmaps.

•Experience leading a diverse global team across multiple geographies and cultures.
