Vice President, Account Management
The role holder will be responsible for all account management/business development activities across a portfolio of Mastercard's key strategic bank partners.
The key responsibilities will include:
Managing a team of account directors, managers and analysts, developing a high-performing team
Overall ownership for the customer relationship
Getting to know the customers' strategic needs and objectives, agreeing mutual goals, and providing thought leadership and solutions
Identify and promote strategic development opportunities that will drive incremental revenue growth for us and our partners
Develop strong relationships with the customer across all operational functions (fraud, marketing, operations, business development and debit)
Deliver revenue performance targets within signed segment agreements/contracts, as well as negotiating such contracts
Develop strong internal relationships within Mastercard to enable the customer to achieve their business goals and differentiate us from our competitors
Ensure the account teams deliver best-in-class service to their customers, escalating issues when required
In partnership with the SVP of Account Management and fellow VPs, positively contribute to best practice across the team, and drive a positive, collaborative and fun culture across the team
The successful candidate will have the following:
Account management skills and sales experience
Ability to integrate effectively with Global and Regional teams (the ability to work in a matrix environment is essential)
Demonstrate multi-disciplinary payments knowledge, i.e. marketing, operations, risk, debit, acquiring, co-brand and emerging technologies
Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
First class business development skills (able to initiate, pursue and close a sale; strong influencing and negotiation skills; ability to think from the perspective of the customer)
Excellent relationship management skills (internal advocate for customers, proactively build business relationships, builds consensus to gain co-operation, understand the diverse needs and objectives of various stakeholders)
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Strong business acumen (understanding of key business fundamentals, entrepreneurial approach and vision, strong product and profitability focus)
Experience managing multiple stakeholder projects.
Proven ability to develop and successfully implement, quantifiable business plans
Outstanding people leader, able to develop happy, high performing teams
