An experienced Business Analysis Manager is required by Mastercard Real Time Payments Product to support Live Market Customers and our Payments Infrastructure Products throughout their lifecycle.

Mastercard RTP Payments Products (a range of account to account payment services), are sold globally to national schemes or banking coalitions, either as managed services, or as software sales (where the client takes responsibility for the day to day running of the service). Each product implementation is unique to the customer, localised to meet the regulatory requirements and customer needs of the market.

The Live Markets Product Business Analysis Manager will focus on the needs of live markets and ensure we support and deliver to meet our product and customer requirements and in a commercially focused way that protects our brand and shareholder returns.

We are looking for an individual with strong Business Analysis background with experience in analysing payment products in a regulated environment, who can also demonstrate working in a complex multi-stakeholder global environment. This individual will have excellent management, analysis, communication and influencing skills, have ability to juggle competing priorities, work with stakeholders of all levels, follow and develop defined governance and processes that are required to support the needs of our Live Markets.

The Product Business Analyst Manager line manages and develops their people, function and processes. They work alongside other Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners and Product Managers and report into a Product Director.

They both lead and fulfil the business analysis function in delivery of payments services into the global live markets.

The Business Analyst gathers business requirements for product change, support, and transition. They translate these to facilitate delivery and provide clear communication to support our Product releases, including story writing, scrum refinements, documentation, presentations, and workshops. They manage their stakeholders and teams through strong relationships to reach collaborative outcomes. They deliver within our remote and in person Product teams spanning the globe, both inhouse and supplier. They work with our global customers and delivery teams at all levels and cross discipline to support and deliver excellence in our Payments Products.


In this position, you will:

• Line manage a small global team of inhouse and supplier team members, working both remote and in person. The team may include other functions such as Product Owners.

• Formally supervises, coaches, and develops a work group/team

• Ensures own team compliance to goal setting and performance appraisal process

• Drive quality in the teamwork performed.

• Acquire subject matter expertise and provide thought leadership in our products, customers and processes, to drive excellence in our services.

• Act as a role model and mentor to develop and grow the Live Markets teams and services.

• Communicate effectively on delivery, product status and be pro-active in identifying risk and managing escalations on complex issues.

• Identify and communicate effectively with key stakeholder groups, including customers, product, delivery, support, and operational teams at all organisational levels, internal and external with a mix of in person and remote collaboration.

• Lead and contribute to effective presentations and workshops.

• Lead and provide structured analysis to support complex change, problem and incident management processes.

• Lead and own business requirements gathering and identify and communicate the changes and solutions required to meet these.

• Own and review analysis artefacts to communicate the requirements and their functional and non-functional changes, including user stories, process flows, use cases, report definitions, wire frames etc.

• Assesses projects and assigns resources, managing workload.

• Own and develop team tasks, planning, reporting, approaches, and methods.

• Support the other product and delivery teams through plan, build and release, to achieve a quality outcome.

• Liaise between business and IT, Product architects and across functions to translate requirements and ensure that solutions are appropriate, meet stakeholders needs and are aligned with roadmaps and governance.

Skills & Experience

• You have proven success in:

o Leading and mentoring Business Analysts.

o Team facilitation, contribution, and mentoring.

o Planning, executing, and managing work across a team and work stream.

o Communicating effectively to internal and external stakeholders both in person and remote.

o Applying business analysis with customers in a complex change environment.

o Translating business requirements for architecture, design, development, test, release, implementation and support teams.

o Structured analysis techniques, to model, refine and communicate requirements.

o Requirement’s elicitation and facilitation of cross functional conversations and workshops with diverse customer stakeholders.

o Delivery lifecycle approaches, both waterfall and agile.

o Applying delivery tools (e.g. Jira, ALM) to drive quality.

o Payments, or other operation critical or financial services industry experience.

o Qualification in an applicable or numerate or commercial discipline.

• Desirable track record in:

o Managing a team.

o Globally diverse teams as a member or lead.

o Delivering to a globally diverse customer community

o Delivering with a mix of in person and remote working for yourself, your teams, and your customers.

o Driving best outcomes with Supplier teams.

COVID-19 Considerations

In many locations, which may change over time, we’ve implemented a virtual hiring process and continue to interview candidates by video or phone. In addition, in some locations, only individuals who have been fully vaccinated will be permitted inside Mastercard offices until further notice.
