Director Market Solutions

About The Role

The Market Solutions team are responsible for identifying the right New Payments Platforms (NPP) Products and Services to meet the prioritised opportunities for the markets and regions, solving for short term needs and continued revenue growth.

The Director of Market Solutions will work with the NPP Centre of Excellence (CoE) teams to understand the market drivers and requirements, and with the NPP Product, Delivery and O&T organisations to act as SME on the products and services to create targeted bundles or sequenced products for our customers. They will support the Market Solutions Team with execution of product selection, go to market processes and the development of country plans.

They will support the team with the development of targeted product approaches which include all possible NPP solutions across Applications (including Pay by Account, P2P & Bill Pay), Infrastructure (including real-time, bulk and proxy services), Send, Cross-Border Payments and , Financial Crime Services and Advisors.

In addition to NPP products this role will also act as SME on our acquisition and partner capabilities and build a solid understanding of the product and services across Mastercard, especially within Cyber and Intelligence, Data and Services and Digital, which will deliver on our multi-rail strategy.

This is a critical function within the CoE working as part of team responsible for driving global revenues directly contributing towards NPP financial goals.

Role Responsibilities

The role will fit within the newly created NPP Centre of Excellence. The core principals of the CoE are:

  1. Simplify customer engagement model and experience

  2. Bring product and industry expertise as close as possible to customers

  3. Partner to deliver results for Country Managers

  4. Align Global and Country teams around the same objectives

  5. Optimize & enhance the existing ways of working

The key role functions are to:

• Provide expertise on NPP capabilities (products, services and partner capabilities) and the use cases they address.

• Have a detailed understanding of the use cases enabled by NPP Products

• Execute and refine the product decisioning process

• Document recommendations for submission to the Pipeline Committee

• Present outcome focussed solutions, rather than products, which meet and exceed market requirements

• Plan and manage creation of standard propositions based on NPP capabilities

• Develop strong domain knowledge of the NPP solution suite and our customer base

• Understand our partner capabilities and market presence

• Contribute to the development of NPP specific product plans within the Go To Market Plans.

• Market positioning & proposition

• Commercial model

• Target audience

• User audience (end user in B2B2B / B2B2C)

• Implementation deployment and operational models & what simplifies or adds complexity

• Regulatory implications (high level)

All About You

• Proven experience of payments across ecommerce, cards and/or ACH/Real Time Payments

• Strong understanding of customer requirements, both B2B, B2C, P2M, P2P, G2P

• Strong experience in product management & product planning.

• Proven experience of internal stakeholder management, communications, and relationship building with senior audiences

• Commercial acumen

• Proven background in product development and customer engagement, within the broader payments industry.

• Track record of working in a product or sales environment that utilised local teams along with global sales support functions.

• Expertise in communication and influencing, both internal and external, strong interpersonal and presentation skills

• Autonomous self-starter and outcome focused, actively collaborative, able and willing to share best practice

• A ‘can-do’ and ‘will-do’ attitude. The ability to build cross-functional relationships and to work, under pressure, with different teams.
