Overview

The Service Reliability Engineering team is looking for a Reliability Engineer to provide 2nd and 3rd line support on live services to 3rd party Bacs Approved Solution Suppliers (BASS) and Bacstel-IP. Also, to provide and support BASS testing and associated activities as contracted to the BACS and FPS schemes and to provide support to the Members on complex payment issues. The RE will be responsible for managing multiple work streams, being a System Administrator for the BASS Test lab environment.

The Reliability Engineer will also provide technical support for the Customer Service Team for both internal and external meetings. This will require to liaise with internal and external representatives at all levels and for internal meetings such as audit reviews, customer meetings and supplier management.

Role

• Provide 2nd line support to the live Bacstel-IP service. Including out-of-hours support where needed.

• Ensure the availability of operational tools and processes for the BASS approval process.

• Provide full support for Bacstel-IP and Secure-IP test equipment for Operational Service Management.

• ensure that a focused relationship exists with both internal and external customers, including Vocalink-Mastercard support teams.

• ensure that any service affecting issues are communicated to these customers and are progressed to resolution, promptly.

• Review and maintain technical documentation for the Bacstel-IP and Secure-IP services.

All About You

The ideal candidate for this position should have:

• A broad range of technical skills, including Windows, Windows networking, TCP/IP, LAN, firewalls, Linux/Unix, SSL and PKI technologies including member signing solutions.

• Good knowledge of Java, Oracle and SQL technologies

• Understanding and experience of working to internal and external fixed schedules.

• Ability to work with both internal and external customers at all levels.

• Ability to develop and implement new processes and procedures.

• Excellent communication skills and willingness to take ownership.

• Required to conduct all activities professionally and with integrity

Desirable:

• ITIL Service Desk Practitioner

• Technical Certification in a platform technology – e.g., UNIX/Java etc.
