Do you want to power Mastercard€™s B2B payments initiatives? This significant senior leadership role will lead our swiftly growing commercial software development teams on the industry leading virtual card provisioning and fraud detection solutions.

This Vice President development role will lead our Commercial business, major projects and creates the development and delivery of quality software solutions, in a timely and cost effective manner. Researches alternative technical solutions for changing business needs. This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Commercial Solutions.

Overview

Responsible for the analysis, design, development and delivery of software solutions

Defines requirements for new applications and customizations, adhering to standards, processes and best practices

Responsibilities

Formally supervises and coaches several groups/teams and is responsible for the business execution of the function.

Ensures the function's compliance to goal setting and performance appraisal process

Helps identify, coach and groom top talent and pro-actively develops employees as organizational resources

Provides strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies

Sets the vision for an environment of ingenuity and creativity and acts as a role model for others in challenging the status quo to encourage innovation

Oversees the management of the Software Engineering function and acts as the highest authority on high-level and complex decisions within the function

Updates Senior and Executive Management on status of high visibility initiatives

Experiences

IT experience with successful track record and demonstrated thought-leadership and cross-functional influence and partnership

Familiar with cutting edge industry trends and thorough understanding of development methodologies and standards.Extensive understanding of and experience with Software Engineering Concepts and Methodologies. Experience with software engineering methodologies is highly desirable.

Proven track record in selection and implementation of methodologies with focus on Lean methodology, delivery of High Efficiency Solutions leading to productivity gains is required.

Demonstrate MC Core Competencies.

Experience in vendor relationship management, vendor selection, RFI/RFP process, SOW is highly desired.

Proven ability to embody MC Leadership Principles.

Proven capacity to lead and influence matrix based project team members and work as a member of a diverse and geographically distributed team.

Experience in operations environment is highly desirable.

Skills/ Abilities:

Must be detail-oriented, proactive and able to function under pressure in an independent environment. Possess the ability to have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation to drive results.

Demonstrate ability to organize, manage, plan and control several concurrent initiatives with conflicting needs.

Must display strong communication skills -- both verbal and written €“ and leadership and relationship skills with ability to influence others without having direct authority.

Proven ability to sell solutions, persuade cross-functional group, garner support for solutions and bring group to a consensus and strong ability in collection and formulation of data, development of Metrics and dashboard reporting.

Ability to support variable work hours generally associated with offshore time-zone constraints and production incidents as needed.

Education:
