Senior Systems Analyst

Job Overview:

The Systems Analyst (SA) is an important member of our software development teams here at Mastercard. The SA works closely in partnership with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and development leads to elaborate technical requirements that meet product business requirements and align with Mastercard technology standards. The SA will need to develop strong working knowledge of all relevant Mastercard applications and systems to be effective.

Major Responsibilities:

•Technical analysis of product or application hardware and software to ensure that business and functional requirements can be met. The SA is a liaison and key communication bridge between the development and business teams.

•Clear communication of technical requirements to the development team and development concerns to business stakeholders. The SA speaks the language of software development and product management.

•Prioritize and identify cross application/system enhancements.

•Identify key dependencies and knock-on impacts of new development work.

•Lead the development of conceptual/architectural designs and user interface mockups.

•Collaborate with development staff on software designs.

•Identification and integration of Mastercard technology standards as and when required.

•Act as a technical consultant for Business Owners during implementation of new products/services.

•Provide subject matter expertise and participate in L4 support escalations.

•Lead review sessions of technical requirements.

•Document and coordinate audit controls and PCI requirements.

Education:

•Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education.

Knowledge / Experience:

•3 – 5 years’ experience in related field

•Strong technical knowledge and capability. Some experience in using one or more of the following languages: Java, PHP, C#, C++, Python, Scala or any modern Javascript framework.

•Experience with CI/CD, Cloud infrastructure, enterprise architectural patterns or microservices architecture is highly advantageous.

•Knowledge of data structures and experience in data extraction and analysis is highly advantageous.

Skills/ Abilities:

•High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function independently with competing demands.

•High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.

•Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization skills.

•Ability to train/guide more junior resources.
