Overview

The Business Intelligence team is looking for a Product Manager - Technical to act as a Product Owner for our BI development scrum teams. Our team focuses on delivering data and insights through BI development and integration with the enterprise data of Mastercard. The ideal candidate is a self-driven, analytical thinker who has experience acting as an analyst or product manager for technical development teams.

The Product Manager will be responsible for identifying internal customer needs, developing product roadmaps, prioritizing feature development, and breaking down requirements into concise Agile user stories. This position requires an individual who is experienced in data-driven decision making and delivering business value through technical product development.

Candidates will have experience in providing a variety of business intelligence solutions using Microsoft (Power BI, SQL server integration services, SQL Server Multidimensional modelling) or other Mastercard supported BI technologies including Domo, Tableau, Alteryx and NiFi. Skilled Data Analysts with a technical background and a solution-focussed mindset will do well in this role.

Role

• Work directly with software engineering teams within the Business Intelligence and API Enablement program to drive the what and why of the teams’ product development

• Makes use of user studies, market research, and data analysis to understand user needs for our products

• Compares the business value of features to drive Product Backlog prioritization

• Drive and cultivate long-term vision through innovation, experimentation, and feature development

• Develop and analyze a customer feedback loop for driving roadmap planning

• Acts as the voice of the customer in quarterly PI Planning within the SAFe Agile framework

• Develops a deep understanding of our products, from customer experience to technical implementation

• Leverages ALM (Rally) as a tool for developing a prioritized Product Backlog of features and user stories

• Ensures features and associated documentation are clear and easily consumable by other engineering teams

• Possesses the necessary technical aptitude to define, communicate, and validate API product functionality

• Nurtures good working relationships with engineers, managers, and peers

All About You:

• Like to dive deep into the operational characteristics of the product

• Demonstrated ability to operate with complete independence and autonomy

• Experience defining and building API products

• Proven track record of data driven decision making

• Can debate the product merits with business teams, architects, and engineers to make the right trade-off decisions

• Experience in Scrum delivery methodology

• Can communicate to executives, peers, and staff with impact, eloquence, and authenticity

• Product development experience

• BS in engineering, computer science, business or related discipline and experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)

• Knowledge of API development practices

• Payments industry experience a huge plus
