The New Payments Platform Service Delivery team is looking for a Manager to lead our System Platform Architecture Team. System Platform Architects is a team of Technology Architects and Engineers responsible for the analysis, design and build of the infrastructure framework to fit the application, platform or system needs in-line with MasterCard's operational standards and principles.

System Platform Architects team is engaged from the beginning of the analysis and design phase of a project to work with the application team(s) and other critical teams within Mastercard throughout the entire SDLC of a platform to ensure that the completed infrastructure and application architecture aligns with MasterCard’s security, scalability and availability standards.


o Partners with internal customers across development verticals to support project completion, performing system and platform initiatives and providing technical advice to the project team

o Resolves chronic complex problems, providing managerial operational support to maintain systems and platform

o Assists with process improvement efforts to identify and test opportunities for automation and/or reduction in time to deployment

o Performs financial analysis, planning, forecasting, and budget tracking to reduce total cost of ownership and allocate resources efficiently, ensuring appropriate technical solutions are employed for the specific application needs

o Lead a diverse, multi-disciplinary global team, conducts goal setting and performance appraisal processes, mentors and coaches technical talent within the organization to reach their full career potential

o Be a problem solver and help your team to deliver timely complex initiatives and projects.

o Delegate. You need to ensure you are not a bottleneck and ensure your staff develop by giving them more complex tasks with defined outcomes and timelines.

o Be involved in Mastercard initiatives - supporting platform maturity, ideation, and automation

o 24x7 oncall duties may be required

All About You

o Experience leading large cross-functional initiatives, expected to provide project direction and technical expertise

o Experience leading and working with global teams and partners.

o Extensive experience leading the day-to-day global technology domains and sub-domains, expected to partner with leaders in the technical community and derive new solutions and future business requirements

o Experience engaging with the broader technical community to anticipate developments in innovation, often evaluating new solutions and recommending future system requirements

o Experience in internet application technologies or other relevant IT experience

o Proven ability identifying potential opportunities for automation optimization and/or reduction in time to deployment

As a Manager at Mastercard, your first and main priority will be to lead your team - direct and indirect members. Part of your role will be to remove roadblocks for them so they can deliver their best work.

Education (preferred):

o Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Experience (preferred):

o Demonstrates an understanding of application infrastructure in supporting business needs.

o Demonstrates ability to participate in cross functional teams for estimating, application designs, and implementation strategies.

o Experience in designing or building infrastructure for large projects

o Prior management experience required

o Experience working in a large multi-national company / working in the technology or payments spaces


o Uses strong writing and verbal communication skills

o Displays excellent collaborative skills with cross-functional teams.

o Provide positive customer service to internal business partners.
